Investigators with the York Regional Police #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking a third suspect and any witnesses after an attempted residential break and enter in the Township of King.
On Friday, May 24, 2024, at 1:56 a.m., police responded to a residence in the area of Highway 27 and King Road, for a report of suspects attempting to break into a house. Prior to police arriving, the suspects were observed breaking into a vehicle at a nearby residence. When officers arrived, the suspects fled on foot and after a brief foot pursuit, one suspect was placed under arrest.
With the assistance of the Canine Unit and Air Support Unit, a second suspect was located and arrested nearby.
It was determined that the vehicle the suspects arrived in had been stolen in Toronto in January 2024. Investigators are seeking information that could identify the third suspect.
Tibor ORGONA, 21, of Toronto and Dzifa AMAH, 18, of no fixed address, face numerous charges, including Loiter/Prowl at Night on Other Person’s Property x2 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 x2. At the time of his arrest, ORGONA was bound by a release order for unrelated offences.
Investigators are also seeking any video surveillance from the area or anyone who may have captured dashcam video at the time of the incident. Any witnesses that have not already spoken to police are being asked to come forward.
