I'm so sorry for your loss. I just found you on 4-27-2023, I saw your tool for making a holder for colored pencils...I do understand having lost both my parents and 3 of my younger siblings. Around the time you lost your mom, I lost my husband. I will keep you in my prayers. I agree, tell your mom you love her if you still have her. Blessings to one and all.

I watched one of your videos, a vase you were covering then went looking to see the second part. I found this. Tom, this was a year ago according to the viewers comments. I can feel your pain because in September 2020 I lost both my parents, 12 days apart. Just 3 days before their 65th anniversary. They both were in the hospital and I couldn’t see them either. I wondered the same things. Were they afraid? I had cared for them both for about 5 years in my home before they went down so fast. They didn’t have covid according to the hospital. They were both quite a bit older than your mom. Mom was 82 and Dad was 83. I’m your mom’s age. She was beautiful. She has a loving and beautiful souled son. I love the beard. I just have to think they all had were conscienceless so there was no fear. Those thoughts will take you down. You have to remember her and not her end. She would want you to live and find happiness again. I admit I have a hard time with that myself. But I try to keep myself busy. I hope you haven’t stopped with your art. You have such talent. Find a group someplace and talk to someone or several someone’s who have similar stories. Everyone is hurting right now. The world is just fighting it’s way back and we all need to fight with it. Just take a deep breath son. Know that Mom was the best and she loved you. Your heart will take time to heal some but it will never stop missing her. That will be your new normal and you have to find a way of living with that. I’m sorry for being so long winded but I just wanted to tell you people love you. You may never meet them but we are out here. I will pray for you tonight. Hang in there. 🤟🏼🤍

I am so very sorry for your loss. Nothing prepares us for such pain and finality. It hurts to see your anguish. Thank heavens you took that lovely picture of your Mom. You have that to cherish - On that picture she is wearing a beautiful smile and she looks like a wonderful, terrific, beautiful woman and mother. You will make it but it will not become easier for some time. Prepare youself to grieve, and do it openly and without fear of what anybody thinks. You will go through the various stages of grieving and there is no particular way except your own way. I have lost both of my parents and one year ago on Nov. 19, I lost my only sibling, a brother. It has been one year and memories and intense feelings remain. The loss is keen and remains in a piece of your heart. Again, I can hear, see and feel your raw emotion and send a virtual hug. I am both mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I've learned much and life is not always a bowl of cherries. Live with your memories and cherish them always. Thank you for sharing and be well.

I almost couldn't watch this video, as I knew it would painful, but I did because if you have the bravery to share, I have the bravery to watch it. I've just come to your channel today, looking for tutorials for clay, and as is normal with someone so talented, I ended up browsing your uploads. To come across this video, shocked me. It's a reminder that there are real people behind the videos, with real feelings and very real grief. I know it's been six months now since you lost your Mum, but I've now doubt it feels like yesterday. I also know of those inbetween moments where you're starting to feel okay and for no reason at all, you are suddenly gut punched again with the enormity of the loss. Of your Mum, I can't say much of her being a completely stranger to you and your family, but what I can say is this: she was clearly, obviously, undoubtedly a wonderful woman. I know this because of the footprints and marks she left behind - you. What a kind, genuine soul you are - to have felt that, in your mourning, you didn't want to let your followers down or go without explanation, speaks volumes of your character, a character which your Mum helped to craft and shows, by extension, how she must've been as well. Your videos have brought me joy, curiosity, fascination and inspiration - someone sat in their living room in England is thinking of you and your family, and wishing you so much joy for the future. As for the beard? Well you said in your next video you weren't sure what to do, but to you I say 'trim'! When you feel ripe for a positive change, start with the beard - that's what I did when I lost my Dad and I felt still like me, but different too, ready for my next chapter perhaps. These momentous situations require a little change in ourselves I think - we shouldn't carry on in the same vein as if nothing has happened, because the worst thing has happened. It's so important to bring in new things to your life that acknowledges that your normality has altered, but not so much to disregard your very loving and important past. I'm waffling now - I am so subscribing to your channel and look forward to seeing you when you are ready to return. With love, Carl from UK

I went through a similar experience when my Mom died at 59 years old. It was a stroke it happened on New Year's Eve & we had just spent Christmas together. She had a massive stroke & lived alone. She was also both my Mom & Dad our everything. It will be 26 years this New Years' Eve since she passed. All I can tell you is that not a day goes by that she is not in my thoughts & the love I feel has never died. I was only 38 years old, my siblings & I thought we had at least 20 more years & we were completely unprepared for the loss, I don't think you can really prepare for the incredible hollowness they leave. Your story made me cry because I feel that pain, but as I told my children, when I became seriously ill & we were concerned it was now my time, that energy never dies & your memories will fill a tiny bit of the void that's left behind. I would do anything to have my Mom back & there are times when I have had two very vivid dreams where she came back to ease a troubling time for me. I am so sorry for your loss, put your pain into your art, it helps. Last year I made all my siblings a Mom Christmas Ornament she was an angel & I'm no great artist but I caught the spirit of her, but it was the love & creating that brought a great deal of joy for me & my siblings. Take care & share all the good memories over & over again.

You seem so nice and genuine! I've recently lost my dad and I know that words don't heal the pain...Especially from strangers. And like you, I don't have many friends and my family is very small, so there wasn't anyone to talk to. But your video was so raw, and so open. It really touched me! I hope that it actually helped you to talk about those feelings and to get it off your chest. The worse thing to do is to bottle it up so I'm happy you are talking about it. Just talking about it is so incredibly difficult and you're a strong person! Thank you for opening up with us. None were able to have funerals due to these abhorrent lockdowns, so as you can imagine we have had no opportunity for closure. I lost my dad very suddenly last year; he went to bed one night, with no overt health issues, and just never woke up. The sense of loss doesn't go away, but over time it is not as ever-present. I didn't really have anyone I was super comfortable talking to about how I was feeling when I was first going through it, and wish I had. If you think it would help you, send me a DM and we can chat. Be well.

So sorry for your loss. I immediately started crying when you said that it was your Mom. Such an important person to lose so early. Mine died 1 1/2 years ago due to cancer when she was 55. I was one week away from my Bachelor thesis deadline. God, that was a chaos. I won't lie and say that it will be easy, though you probably know that already, because the feelings and thoughts you have now about nevery being able to talk to her again won't leave for awhile. Everytime I would have a question or comments about household items, sewing, our favourite show or my accomplishments it still takes a moment to remember that I can't just call her. But please don't forget that you're not alone. You have your family, small it may be, friends, and this community (we may not be able to do much, but we try). Lots of love to you. Stay strong.

Hello. I'm listening to you speak now as I write this. You give so much to so many you don't know by transmitting your knowlege and inspiring us with your talent. You are a generous man. In this terribly personal, painful event, you've turned to your viewers/followers, which to me means that our connection is very important to you. I was taken by the warmth and sincerity in the way you transmit your knowledge through your videos. You are doing something good here, and reaching many people wanting to learn or improve their skills. Fantastic. It's been 10 months since you posted this - I hope you are finding your way through your grief and loss of your mother. We just go on with this business of living, because that's how it works. But she remains a part of your life, of your world, and that, too, is how it is should be in honor of someone we love and deeply admire. And, yes, I will call my mother tonight - in honor of you (without explaining that to her...) - thank you for reminding us to act in the present. No regrets, or few. I am the mother of an adult son, which gives me a sort of double perspective on what you've put out to us here - your heart shines through, which is so much for a mother to be proud of . I hope you will find some solace and strength in continuing with your craft, and when you are ready, come back to us. What a fine teacher you are! I'm taking a college-level foundation course in 3D Design and needed help with understanding how to properly do the foil armature - who could have asked for more! your video makes it clear to me. I appreciate your allowing us into another dimension of your life, beyond your art. I can see that creating these videos and transmitting your know-how has much value for you. Thank you so much. Carry on, and all the best. From one of your subscribers (in Europe)

I just started watching today, just made my first bead today, it had the Ladybug on it that you taught me to make. I'm 65, I am sorry for your hurt, I will tell you that you will never forget her, but time, and prayer, will heal the hurt. I know it doesn't seem like it will ever go away, but, one day, you'll notice that it will be a little less. And then, one day, a little more less, until all you have left are the good memories and the laughter (and you will laugh again, I promise). I will pray for you and your family. And, rest your mind, I worked in the medical profession and in the ICU, sweet folks are given meds so they won't hurt, The meds take the fear away, along with the hurt. Please keep on, your channel is , I think for some, a channel with hope. I'm alone, closed in, and I wanted to make something, something to do with my hands to make the hours go by a little better. So, I bought some air dried clay... you have a gift for teaching and you taught me. Thank you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Never apologize for self care, never apologize for caring for your family. It requires no explanation to us, no required minimum positivity for the faceless audience. I know it hurts. And holidays without a loved one are really hard, especially the first. So please please continue to take care of yourself however you need to to stay healthy, mentally and physically. The picture of your mom is wonderful, she looks like she was having a very happy day, enjoying it with you. Remember the love that's there and don't let the grief take it away but also don't be ashamed to take the time you need to grieve. There's not an "approved grieving etiquette" timeline and don't let anyone tell you it's time to move on if you need more time to process, because you will make yourself miserable, you will feel worse, and it will stretch on and on. I'm sorry, that got long. Please take care. ❤

Please don't feel the need to apologize, you know that there are some good people here who have been following you and watching your videos for years (like me!) who will always be here to support you. Losing someone close to you, especially during this pandemic, is really rough.. I lost my grandpa a couple months ago, and it was so depressing to have to watch his funeral over a zoom call then physically being there to say goodbye... Regardless, from the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry for this sudden loss. Be sure to take the time you need to heal, and again, remember that we are all here for you! Sending positive vibes your way. ❤️

Only discovered your channel last week and have binge watched since. Your calming voice and your talent are simply wonderful. I can guarantee I won't be the only one that feels as if they are much more than just viewers. My hero, my Dad, left to start on his next journey a very short time ago after deciding to give up dialysis so someone who had a chance of finding a donor could take his chair. It was only prolonging his pain. I can't say I know how you feel as I'm not you, but your aching heart comes through so strongly watching you. I, like all the wonderful people who you've obviously inspired, are sending you so much healing light and love, it won't take anything away, but hopefully it will be a cushion for you and yours, use it and lean on it. I had to stop reading the comments as they are so heartfelt and beautiful. Your mum is with you all the time now, always talk to her, she will still listen, smile when you feel all the love she's filled you with. Please NEVER be sorry for letting people see your pain, your tears, your heart, they are emotions too and no one apologises for smiling, laughing, caring or loving, so never be sorry for sharing your emotions. I join everyone in surrounding your family in caring arms and much love. X

You are a wonderful person. Love the beard! I lost both my parents and understand the loss "closed door" of communication and affection. It never goes away. I also lost my little sister she was 47, mom died at 52 and dad was the lucky one he lived to be 76. It seems that losing Dad hurt more, but it's really the fresher hurt. I got to be with him longer than Mom and my sister. After losing some one very close to you, your own life changes track in different ways. We grow into our own more without the loved ones influence. It is hard and painful, but we "you" will be okay. Embrace the good things in life and don't stop being creative. I hope to see new works of art from you soon! Love your sister in Jesus Christ.

Tom I truly have tears in my eyes for you right now. I am so sorry you are going through this. Losing someone is one of the most difficult things we experience in life, but it's even harder when it is unexpected and we didn't have a chance to prepare or say goodbye. I am sending you so much love and comfort. I wish I could do something more tangible to help. You said you don't have many friends, but you do. We are here in the comments. Please reach out if you need someone to talk to. 💚 P.s. your beard is magnificent

I just found your videos, you're voice, you're calming nature, has made me want to focus on my alone times and thoughts when I make "stuff." Thank you for that. About your mom. I am so so sorry for the loss of your world. It's very clear how she was your world. I am a paramedic and I know how hard it has been for so many during the screwed up season of COVID. Not being able to be with her at the end is wrong. I know that sometimes we are the last ones to see your loved ones. We know this and do everything we can to make them feel safe and they are not alone. She is still there for you ❤

I just scowled upon you and played your video. Yes your story is a sad one, may your dear mother Rest In Peace with our Lord above. She’s fine now, and I know she loves you and misses you with all her heart too. I’m 64 and feel that way about my son, I love him ever so must also. I’ll miss him terribly when my time will come too. Bless you for being a good son to your mother. 🙏🏽

You can still talk to her anytime you want. Prayers, hugs and strength. You are loved by many. I lost my Dad at 16. It’s still a big hole in my hear. Years later my brother. One minute at a time. I call my Mom every morning and evening. When I’m not driving her around I call her in the afternoon. I’m so scared when the good Lord calls her home. I’m not close with anyone else. The pain from my father and brother was so strong I keep everyone at arms length to avoid anymore except for my Mom. There are no words.

I’m very sorry for your loss. Clearly you loved her very much. I understand losing a parent as my dad died in 2015 from a brain tumour. Cry when you need to. Talk about her often. Surround yourself with pictures. Big hugs.

Condolences to you and your family. Don't ever apologize for voicing your feelings. It was a touching tribute from a son loving his mom. Sharing your love for your mom is awesome, she knew very much the love you have for her even when you didn't get to say hi mom. The picture taken 3 days prior was meant as a gift to you, the way she wanted you to remember her, not lying in the ICU.... stay strong, she is resting for a little while, yet is always by your side keeping watch.

I'm incredibly sorry for your loss. What happened is something I know most people dread and that pain seems so unbearable. I'm lucky to still have both my parents, though my dad is pretty sick, but anyway, I have a little alarm set on my phone to call my parents at least once a week. I can't imagine how hard this must be at a time like this where the whole world feels so crazy and lonely. I'm a quiet stranger on the internet, but I'm sending lots of love to you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom knows how much you love her. She will always be watching over you. You are an incredible artist, use that as your outlet for your grief. My family lost 7 members in the first 6 months of this year... none due to covid. The pain of losing someone we love never leaves us, instead it becomes an ocean. High tide is at its worse. Low tide we are calm. I'm here if you need to chat. I'm a very good listener. Peace be with you & your family.

I am really sorry about your mom. That last thing you said at the end really hit home, I have been so busy recently that it had passed more than a week since I talked to my mom, so I just called her, thank you for the kind reminder, and you are so right about things sometimes going from A to B so fast, sometimes life is so unpredictable. Thank you for sharing, please take care of yourself, I really hope you and your family stay safe and remember your mom will always be with you in your heart and in the memories you made together.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I am always willng to visit. My mom was 62 when she passed in 2010 from esophageal cancer. She fought it for 2 years. The mass kept rupturing and in the end she bled to death at home where she wanted to be. A good friend of mine told me as he gave me the truth about loss; You aren't waiting to get over the loss but learning to live with it. He lost his son so I took his words to heart. That phrase has helped me. I sincerely hope it helps you also. Message me if you want to talk. Talking to a stranger helps because you don't have to feel guilty for hurting someone who is also hurting from this.
