Kenny Williams was the house announcer for Heatter-Quigley Productions (especially Hollywood Squares). In 1964-65 he was "Kenny The Cop" on the ABC Saturday Morning kids game show "Shenanigans" that starred Stubby Kaye as the "Mayor of Shenanigans" - It was basically a commercial for Milton-Bradley kids games. There is a full show on YT

I don't remember the Milton Bradley home version of the game but I do remember a home version of "Concentration" which was a plastic box with slots for little cards that you would remove, revealing more of the picture puzzle. The picture puzzles were on a paper roll with around 50 of the puzzles. If a home game came out now it would probably be an app for your phone.

I think they should bring this show back as an occasional special, like they've done with other classic game shows. They could make a really cool 3-D set with lots of new, modern features and lights to mark the squares where the contestants go after their spin. Of course they'd have to up the value of the prizes, but I think modern audiences would enjoy an updated version.

There was a game show in Montreal, Canada in the early 2000s called Wizz. It had some elements of this in it. The two contestants had partners that were animated characters who traveled around a computer generated board. Didn't last long though, too expensive to produce with the animation and it frequently got pre-empted for the news. Before that there was also the Mad Dash in Canada in the 70s which again was very similar to Video Village. Very popular.

Jack Narz only appeared as host for the early New York run of VV. Red Rowe filled in for a couple of weeks after that, and then Heatter-Quigley moved west to Hollywood, where Monty Hall hosted for the rest of the show’s run.

He went through something like that when he did Beat the Clock in the early 70s. He did the first couple of seasons in New York, then production moved to Montreal, Canada and they weren't giving him any kind of a travel allowance or bump in pay, So his salary was pretty much just paying for his travel, not worth it to him so he quit and announcer Gene Wood took over, he was already in the area doing another show called "anything you can do" so it was more worthwhile to him.

In the wake of the quiz show scandals, CBS was wary of having contestants win large sums of money. In fact, when a player on the nighttime version of PASSWORD two years later won $1,200 in a single episode, the network made producers Mark Goodson and Bill Todman change the rules so that the same twp players couldn't compete for the entire show.

I watched SHENANIGANS every Saturday morning. It was less a game show and more a 30 minute commercial for Milton Bradley whose game were shamelessly promoted. (Time Bomb! would be an interesting gift to bring on a plane. ) What was truly incredible was the get a Broadway and film star the caliber of stubby Kaye to host and sing in a Network morning show was truly amazing. What a treat as he was just off starring in lLil Abner and cat Ballou.
