Project
Via the HPI school cloud
The Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering developed under the direction of Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel together with MINT-EC , the national excellence school network of 325 schools nationwide and supports the HPI School Cloud from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It is intended to create the technical basis for teachers and students to be able to use modern digital teaching and learning content in every subject, in the same way that apps can be used via smartphones or tablets.
More information: Brief description "The HPI School Cloud" (.pdf)
The HPI School Cloud project started the 5-month concept phase in September 2016. The pilot phase started in May 2017, during which 27 MINT-EC schools were able to test and use the HPI school cloud. The roll-out phase began in May 2018, in which the use of the HPI school cloud is gradually expanded to all 325 schools from the national excellence school network MINT-EC. Currently, 128 MINT-EC pilot schools nationwide and abroad can use the HPI School Cloud in their lessons.
As Lower Saxony Education Cloud, School Cloud Brandenburg and Thuringian School Cloud, nationwide solutions are being tested in more than 40 schools of all school types and educational institutions. Further pilot projects with school authorities and individual schools are currently starting all over Germany. (As of February 2020)
