Been playing Sims 3 in Spanish to help me learn :) It's great because it deals with everyday situations like careers and family so it has relevant vocabulary

There's no way I could have learned English as I did without the help of the countless hours I spent in English speaking movies and TV shows. Sure, school was important for the basics, but without the "getting used to hear it" part it would have been impossible. I now live and work abroad in an English speaking country. Amazing video as always.

Thanks man! yeah, as you said, the "getting used to hear it" is extremely important. When im in doubt of the pronunciation of something, i always get the feeling that "it just doesnt sound right" and try to look back at a time i've heard something similar and work from there.

I loved this video. I'm in agreement with your position. Perhaps, many people don't think as we do, but we can teach them how useful can be these tools.

Thanks man, glad you liked it! nowadays videogames are becoming more and more mainstream so i think it wont be long before they could be used as legitimate learning tools.

Great video. I had the same experience learning English. Looking back I have no idea how I could finish Pokemon games (etc.) with such limited English...and through them I learned a lot.

Thank you for making this video. I'm an English teacher in Vietnam. It's really helpful for my students. I found a small typo in your English transcript. It should say, "For the people who don't know RPGs (or Role Playing Games)".

Now that i'm starting to learn russian after learning english i'm starting to see the basic formula for aquiring a new langauge. I think the idea is to learn the alphabet first if it has one, then learn the basic grammar, and then just start chucking vocabulary down your noggin with context and all

Videogames are awesome for English. I learned more with videogames than in school. I had to use internet and my bilingual dictionary to understand how grammar works and what many words mean. When I became kinda fluent, I realized how amazing was understanding many retro videogames which were only available in English. Also those games which are available in English and other languages but not in your native language. I finished some games in English without understanding it haha. It's a matter of try and error.

Awesome analisis, for me it was simpler. I was raised in USA but am Dominican, so i learned both languages naturally. After moving back to the D.R. whe was 9 I always watched english tv and only spoke in english with my sister, guess that helped us keep our language skills on point and with native pronunciation.

could you tell me which software or website you use to make this types of animation videos.
@OlbenGC6 жыл бұрын
I mostly the Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Audition, After Effects and Premiere). I recorded the voice with Audition, then illustrated the characters and background either on Illustrator or Photoshop, then used After Effects for most of the animation, and finally Premiere to add sound effects and the music.
@grammarway3176 жыл бұрын
