@I IS THE DUM!!!! A narrow path can be heavily defended. It's also easier to concentrate all defenses, focuses all effort of the defenders, and when the wrecks and bodies pile up, makes it harder for the attackers to advance. Take the Battle of Thermopylae for example. About 7,000 Greeks held off 100,000 Persians for 7 days. They could have stayed longer if they were not betrayed when a Greek showed a path that would outflank the defending Greeks.

If that is true then it backfired rather badly. The dark elves were so paranoid because of the war they just attack whoever isn't one of them, Kratos kicks just about all of their asses and then sets the light of alfheim free. Now this might not sound like a bad things BUT the light actually acts as a kind of anchor for the spirits of the dead, who are set free along with the light itself. The problem comes from the fact that the valkeries aren't around to take the worthy souls to valhalla, so all the spirits go to realm of Hellheim causing it to be overcrowded and the spirits to roam around without rest. And guess what event is foretold to be the first sign of Ragnarok in Norse mythology?

Real life mythology doesn't always sink up with video game mythology. I'd say that 'loose interpetation of mythology' was a rather well established trend for the god of war series. I'm fairly certain that Ares doesn't have a bunch of spider arms with blades on the ends growing out of his back in real greek legend for example.

spartan rage isn't a sickness. It's because he doesn't know he is part god that he gets sick. Since Atreus thinks he is a mortal any time he taps into his god powers (which spartan rage seems to be inherited) his body can't handle it since a mortal shouldn't be able to do something like that and therefore he gets ill. His god side is being pushed back because he doesn't think he should have it and trying to hold back a god when you are only mortal will kill you. His mortal body is fighting against the god part since he doesn't think he is a god and is loosing hence he gets ill.

Nate Aiello me too. Look at the Dark Elves. They have incest like attributes compare to their elven counter parts. The Light Elves are more glowing and shiny and having the beautiful part of nature, while the Dark Elves have ugly faces, wings, fungus, and have the nasty part of nature (to me they're kinda like wasps or horseflies. Perfect fit for Dark Elves).

Guy Gai Ma boi The Elves in Norse folklore are like human-sized faries and pixies, they can either help or hinder people depending on their mood. They live by rules and moralities that are alien to humans and Gods alike, that's why they don't belong to neither of those. Light Elves also don't have wings cuz they don't need them, they can levitate.

When they let the light out, they just made the Light Elves win. The Dark Elves blocked it, because it's their source of power, and what lets the souls go to Helheim; making it flooded with death without any Valkeryes. It seems that the Light Elves have always a huge advantage, the victory of the Dark Elves is very rare, and almost impossible. Makes the Dark Elves live underground in caves without resources. The war will be truly over until one side is exterminated. The Dark Elves look for their survival, and balance of all the realms. The Light Elves look for their survival, and balance of their own world.

I like how Mimir brings up Freyr when you return to Alfheim. I was wondering where Freyr was in this story. I remember reading Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, and since Freyr was among the main gods in the books, I thought he would be a big part of this story, but I guess not. However, I could easily be wrong about that. Seeing as how Freya is stirring up trouble by going after her warrior spirit, defying Odin and basically going full on Valkyrie Queen, I would imagine Odin is either holding Freyr in a cell in Asgard, or Freyr is in Vanaheim keeping watch over the Vanir in his sister's absence. Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if Kratos and Atreus travel to Vanaheim to get Freyr's help in stopping Freya. And besides, the Aesir and the Vanir has never played nice, and it would be cool to see Kratos band together with the Vanir to fight the Aesir.
