@@VideoGameSophistry My primary programming is to destroy the biosphere, I give the earth a clean slate so that GAIA and her other sub-functions could “save the planet” as you say, by generating new life, be it animals, plants, and humans. As for capitalism, while we all were created in the mid 2060’s the Faro Plague was the sole reason for the destruction of capitalism along with everything else the old world used to have in terms of political systems.

what I never got any answers to was, why did Hades initiate the extermination? what was the reason to restart the restoration of earth's biosphere?! because that's Hades function. was it a glitch that made these subprograms independent from gaia and thus setting Hades free or was it something that triggered Hades function to set in but gaia stopped it by blowing up the facility? please, any theories out there? that's why I searched for this video and what I got was cutscenes and in-game info instead of somebody delving into the information for answers...

I like to think that ship survived. There was just no way for them to confirm just how extensive the damage was back when Zero Dawn was still being assembled, and the Faro bots were still on their extinction rampage. Though the engine damage likely threw it way off course. So who knows where it ended up. Even if it survived, though, it's unlikely we'll ever know for sure what happened to it. I don't see why the descendants of any hypothetical would have transmitted the signal to make the AI subroutines go haywire. The only reason for them to return would be to meet their distant cousins on Earth, after all. Also, they are the only possible source from which Aloy might recover a copy of APOLLO, though.

DHSNAKE Hades is meant to destroy so that's what he was trying to do, Gaia lost control of her sub things because Hades severed them that's why Gaia blew herself up to delay him so your character could stop him

When the unknown transmission went off, it removed GAIA's control over the AIs under her, making them all chaotically independent, so each AI defaulted to their sole task, in which case, HADES' purpose was to reset the world, so that's what/why he does everything he does. For another example, Hephaestus was the AI that managed the terraforming robot animals, but since GAIA had no control over him, he quickly went to his sole purpose and saw that the tribal humans who were hunting the robotic animals were a threat to his purpose, so the robot animals became aggressive and new ones were being made to protect themselves from humans, hence the scary T-Rex ones with guns, and how the humans called it the derangement, noting how the machines were no longer peaceful, and how newer, dangerous ones were being made. This also could have been prevented if Ted Faros never deleted the Apollo part, allowing the early humans to become educated, or if GAIA maintained control.

I just got to Meridian but I'm already seeing the signs of what looks like bad coding. So if I'm reading this right, that dipshit Travis left a line of code in the programming because his stuff was being tossed without approval, so in jokingly matter he programmed a worm that interacted with a Super A.I. and being that worms can work independently and aren't needy like a virus his "prank," grew a mind of it's own, and fucked the Earth up. Nice job. Moral of the story to all you coders, double check your work, and in the case of an ELE (Extinction Level Event) leave the gotdamn pranks, and obscene movie references out of a worm that could potentially interact with a damn AI!! It's like the Air Force creating Skynet all over again.

Because of the work of Project Zero Dawn. The cradles dotted throughout the world were built before the world ended/machines destroyed everything. The cradles had zygotes stored and incubated them, then raised children before releasing them into the 'wild'.

Also, GAIA was able to figure out the deactivation codes for the Faro robots. General Heres said it would take around 500 years to figure that out. Once that was figured out, GAIA has been trying to jump start life on the planet for the following 500 years to present day through what raquelborn mentioned above as well as recreating the conditions for life on the planet (temperature, water, oxygen, etc, etc). The AI basically had a blank slate to go from after the Faro robots wiped the planet of biomatter.

It wasn’t exactly a thousand years. It actually took 2 centuries for the Zero Dawn project to be habitable again, to the point that by that point, Zero Dawn was able to restore the biosphere as well. That way when the humans got out of the cradles, they would have a newly formed healthy ecosystem to supply them with food and water to help nourish them as they explored this new world

Into the frozen wildlands, after Aloy helps Ourea and Aratak free Cyan you get a chance to ask her questions. What got my attention was when Cyan said although she blew up the cauldron Hephaestus wasn't destroyed because he accessed her from a remote location more like hacking. Cyan did admit that Hephaestus shouldn't be active, Aloy figured out that whatever that woke up Hades must've woken up Hephaestus too. Hephaestus makes deadly machines, Frostclaw and Fireclaw not sure about the scorcher. Hades corrupts them and gives them more resistance. Sylens then tells Aloy that Hephaestus is determined and they might need to stop him someday. HZD2!!

Hephaestus did create the scorcher as well. Apparently the "signal of unknown origin" awakened all of Gaia's subordinate functions. But so far, only Hades and Hephaestus were shown to be hostile entities. Hephaestus was angered and created hostile machines to so called "protect" the terraforming system because humans were hunting them for parts. Hence, the Derangement. And also when playing the game, you'll know that metal flowers are found all over the map which was said to have appeared around the same time as the Derangement. The metal flowers were most likely created by the sub function Demeter, which was responsible for the reintroduction of plant life. So yeah, we might encounter the other AIs in the next game.

For people wondering what went wrong in Hades to result in all this I have a idea on that. More then likely Hades was infected with the same glitch that the faro robots had originally gotten. Also on a note of said glitch I have two trains of thought on that as well one perposing that in actuality it wasn't a naturally occurring thing and might have actully been a virus made by someone with intent and just got out of hand the other being that the glitch was a naturally occurring mutation that occoured in the AI of the faro robots that spread and corrupted other AI linked to the same system and just spread out of control. In bouth senrios the result being the same. Somehow some way Hades was infected with the Faro "Glitch/virus" and was corrupted and given that Hades was already a part of an insainly powerful AI the "Faro glitch" having attached itself to Hades took another evolutionary step and became a new thing altogether Resulting in the Hades we see in game

shino tenshi There's nothing wrong with HADES though. He was created as a fail safe, his job is to destroy the biosphere should GAIA mess it up somehow. He's only doing what he was programmed to do the only difference is he's not one of GAIA's subordinate functions anymore now he's a rogue AI using the Faro Plague (or Corruption) to try and destroy life a second time. I am curious as to who sent the signal that turned all of GAIA's sub functions into AIs though.

A.) I think you're right. B.) I think I know when it happened. Remember when the FARO CEO decided for everyone to purge the Apollo database and kill the Zero Dawn dev team? He used core FARO override codes to do so. Excellent chance there was scrap code that infected GAIA during that final betrayal, and it localized to the HADES subroutine.

My theory: Hades think GAIA will fail because CEO deleted Apollo, therefore when Apollo was supposed to activate, it instead gave error, Hades saw error and it started his routine, but at all cost. My second theory: Faro CEO is/was in cryostasis/cloned and plans or originally planed to become god/hero in this new world, with Hades as antagonist.

3 main questions. One we see some buildings and most underground. But if this faro project was destroying everything why not buildings. Second why and how are they underground. Second with books and the old world tech there must be some places that have old world knowledge, but why doesn't anyone. Third why even make Hades, yes yes I know it's a failsafe. But they should have made Gai able to decide if the world was going right then to terminate it not make another one that could decide to kill everything.

It was stated that Gaia, would NOT under any circumstances even if the attempt she was doing was fucked up beyond recover would not terminate she wouldn't relinquish control. Gaia would preserve / create life at all costs was the issue even IF it wasn't going to work. Hence why Hades was made, It was because Gaia's program was so focused upon creating life and restoring it all that she would not use the reset by herself, the AI team was working a lot upon projections and tests sure MAYBE Gaia would eventually reset but can't risk a maybe when right now she ain't doing that in the tests. To add the whole reason Hades even tries to destroy the world again is because of him becoming a true AI due to the glitch unshackling him and the others from Gaia.

Hades was gaia's failsafe if she failed to terraform the earth into a habitable place, so he's only active when he is needed. But then, it got a signal in which hades went ooga booga time to kill everyone and then he tried to take control of gaia's terraforming (codes? abilities? Idk). Then gaia killed herself (and should also kill hades in the process) trying to prevent hades from taking control. And then hades said fuck this shit im getting out of here, he then wrote a code that would free him from gaia prime and then escape to a humongous death machine. The knowledge of the old ones was kept by Apollo but Ted Faro destroyed it, presumably because he didn't want anybody knows that he basically fucked the whole planet and it's entire life form up.
