The first Madden game to be released on Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn. Madden '96 was originally intended to be the first Madden game to be released on the original PlayStation, but it was cancelled due to not meeting quality standards with Electronic Arts.

Fun fact: I once E A S I L Y won $20 off my dad's roommate at the time cuz that fuckin dolt bet me that Jerome Bettis had never played for the Rams. At halftime of that game, I drove home and got my almanac proving I was correct. My dad's roommate was as close to literally being shit as a human being can be and tried to pussy out of the bet. My dad then gave me the $20 and said "I used to owe him $50. Now I owe him $30."
