What does the Diaphram Installation tool do? Why is it needed? What happens with the pump if it is not used?

From my experience, the Diaphragm Installation Tool slows the flow of air, making it SIMPLE to move the shaft from one side to the other, which makes it easier to attach the diaphragms back onto the shaft. Basically, it's needed to make the job easier. If it is not used, you could apply too much air, cycle the pump too far (or fast) and you probably could cause damage to the diaphragm (that you just changed). I would personally recommend using the tool every time. Makes changing the diaphragms out a breeze.

Thanks for your responde Andy, We have several Graco Husky 716, 515 and 307 pumps. In the past we have replaced the diaphragms several times but we have never performed the procedure using the installation tool and the service manual that we have does not indicate that we should use such tool. Are we doing things the wrong way? Does doing this bring harsh consequences over the life expectancy of the pump? Will it bring operation problems? Cheers.

Hi Ica, the Husky 1050 can achieve flow rates up to 50 gpm.

How about a husky 3275? How much GpM. And why is the pilot in there exposed to water. While the pilot was tightly closed? Thank you

@@icawijaya9217 The 3275 has actually been replaced by the 3300 series with a maximum of 280-300 games. When the fluid covers are tightened the diaphragms are sealed so the air side is separated from the fluid section, keeping the pilots and air channels free of material.

I work in a factory. repair the husky pump. there must be an obstacle on the pilot's part. and often wet in the piston
