I am doing shorts and reels for few months already and I feel like KZbin Shorts are future because people have short span of attention now, and it's really popular with Gen Z (almost as much as TikTok). @@bubuchocolate they did alright, relatively speaking. The first one shot up pretty quickly but then they kinda leveled off and haven’t got alot of action since. I kind of have a theory that there are so many shorts being posted all the time that when you post one, it has a short timeframe to either takeoff or fall down the list of what the algo promotes. Depending on your niche they can be less time consuming to make, and some people’s shorts do really well so it can be a good idea. I’m not so sure I feel that way about mine though lol

Literally recorded my short using OBS with a 9:16 ration and I flipped my resolution from 2560x1440 to 1440x2560 and even tried 1080x1920 to go lower and the actual screen looks like the correct ration but when i watch the video it is stretched wide. What else is there for me to do?

At this moment, I've given up on creating shorts. When I get $0.14 for 2,000 views on a short compared with $6.50 for 1,500 views on a long from video, it's just not worth the effort. When I needed the subscriber count, shorts really helped, but since I've hit the 1k mark, I don't concentrate on getting subscribers anymore. I still have an idea for a killer short, but I'm now content with relying on long form content and community posts at the moment.

That's true.. unless what you enjoy happens to be something that billions of people have already ran the market of content on, then you'll likely have a harder time building a community in that same area of content. The areas where competition is high requires you to fall into the algorithmic trap where you'll likely have to copy a portion if not majority of the format that you see working for other channels. If you're in a territory where you can kind of set the tone for what content looks like for something that isn't so popular yet, then you don't have to do as many psychological tricks to pull in more viewers.

Idk if this is true but I think putting links to places outside youtube in descriptions makes the youtube algorithm promote your content less since they want people to stay on youtube. This means that you might as well just put no non-youtube links in shorts descriptions.

Thank you for this video; however, I followed these steps and added music just like you demonstrated on the youtube music and on several occasions have received content ID notifications which sometimes show up a week later after it has gone public which is so frustrating. Sometimes I can delete and try again until successful but that is no guarantee a claim won't show up at any time after the upload. I am a small channel but want to avoid this from happening in the future and don't know why it is happening.

Do you have to record the short on your cell phone for it to be considered a short? What if you just create a short video and upload it to KZbin, will it still be recognized as a short?

No, you can edit it anywhere you like. I use Davinci Resolve (free) and it works fine :). Just needs to be certain dimensions and length in time (no more than a minute long).

Sir, but what to do if my shorts didn't get into shorts feed ?? I made about 7 videos which don't get into the feed... It feels like im cursed. The most interesting 8 days ago one of my shorts did it and got into the feed and it got more than 150k views but that was the only one that got into shorts feed. Idk what's wrong.
