The 2022 Tata Steel Masters is a 14-player single round-robin taking place from 15-30 January in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands. World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen heads the field, which includes stars such as 2020 Champion Fabiano Caruana and Anish Giri.
The time control is 100 minutes for 40 moves followed by 50 minutes for 20 moves, then 15 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move 1. If there is a tie for first place the top two after tiebreaks then play a 2-game blitz (5+3) playoff and, if still tied, an Armageddon game. The monetary prizes will be shared evenly. I think this tournament perfectly shows how big of a talent Pragg is and how he lacks of experience when playing against these Super GMs. Next opponents will be Esipenko, Dubov and Fabiano. Really looking forward to!

Moving his king in that triangle towards the end gained him 1:30 on his clock. Pragg needed those precious seconds since he was down to under 5 seconds for the moves leading up to that. Very stressful. 😳

@Freakinawesome333
@Freakinawesome333 2 жыл бұрын
Probably because after king b2 white attacks the knight on b3, so you would only win an exchange, not a full rook. They would go into an endgame where white has 2 extra pawns for the exchange and the white king is more active than black’s king. Surely not winning for black; Praggu probably thought he had better chances keeping queens on the board while the white king has little shelter and his own king is safe.

18:45 Agad got confused here. 3 times Ra8 was the best move and Pragga missed all 3. At move 40, Qa8 was the best and Pragga played that.

At 27:38, why can't Vidit move Rf6 check?

Can anyone see that the discovery at 13:53 Rc4? Nb3+ wins? Or explain what I am not seeing? The K must move and then the rook is overloaded, QxR. Game over.

Yes I saw that too Nb3+ and white rook falls. Very long flawed game for sure

@@swapnil6080 Yes thank you. While you can miss a move in a blitz game or a rapid game when your time is low, there is no way you can miss this move in analysis, which instantly wins. And easy to spot.

13:44 why not Nb3+? That would have picked up the rook for the knight

I was hoping he would metion that, too. But after playing that exchange out white would have 5 pawns to 3 while the b6 pawn would be easily captured as well by giving a pass A pawn. So I guess, it wouldn't be the best exchange, but that's definitely what I would have done in my games lmao

Nb3+ ,all trades and exchange win were not sufficient for a win because Prag was two pawns down.It's more likely to be a draw
