Shree Karaikudi Mani's playing precision is next to Shree T.S.Palghat Mani Iyer's in my opinion. His pattern of playing comprises various combinations (Nadai) that would attract even the most disenchanted lover of music. I used to watch him play at Shri. T.R. Harihara Sharma's Shri Ganesh Thala Vadya Vidyalaya in Chennai where i learnt Mridhangam for sometime....The legends whom i always listen to even today is Shri. Palghat T. S. Mani iyer, Shri. Palani Subbramani Pillai, Shri Karaikudi Mani , Shri U. K. Sivaraman and Shri. T. V. Gopalakrishnan...
