Uncondition Yourself with Namita Thapar

Күн бұрын

Body shaming is the act of ridiculing a person’s body shape. The act of body shaming is heinous and can lead a victim to severe depression and anxiety. Due to societal influence, it is often found that a great percentage of adults fall prey to ‘Body shaming jokes’ that subsequently leads them to self doubt their potential. Body shaming is not restricted to any specific gender, but in women, it directly questions their integrity and femininity due to long-lasting female body type stigmas. Above all, there is still a lot of work needed to be done to educate people about the effects of body shaming on physical and mental health and the practice of self-love and embracing your body.
In Season 2 of 'Unconditional Yourself With Namita', watch Namita Thapar in conversation with Padma Shri actor Vidya Balan, who shares her experiences about body shaming and her journey of learning self-love and body positivity.
'Uncondition Yourself With Namita' is a first exclusive talk show where our host talks with the patients, experts and doctors on women's health.

Thank you so much for this! I feel more relaxed listening to this. My family body shamed me for years, despite working out everyday. I felt like they were ashamed of me because of this. But until one doesn't accept themselves, the criticism of society overtakes your life.

I am working on a project and my topic is Body Shaming. Please if people could help me and tell me what motivates them to be a good person or not care about being body-shamed or what motivated them to lose weight or gain weight or not care.
@meghaj4038
@meghaj4038 2 жыл бұрын
Simple explanation is - if you are not measuring beauty by skin/body type/looks then it motivates them to be good person. Lack of knowledge about various medical conditions - makes people think - oh she is not working out or having diet - that’s why she is gaining weight. It’s not a case in many - so many have genetic conditions, some have harmonal problems which results in weight gain. In general people need to be less judgemental, more compassionate and empathetic.

@@meghaj4038 Thank you for the reply, But what do you think can be done to stop people commenting on other people's bodies or how they look, or how can u stop them from body shaming. Also, What do you think people who are a victim of these comments or body shamed to not give a damn or how should they react to the comments.
@meghaj4038

@@tanishakhandelwal4507 should stop depending on Bollywood movies and Hindi serials to define woman and her roles. It’s very far from reality. Acceptance and working towards being healthy than being lean.

What bullshit lol.......Vidya feels fit.....😂. Give her a 5 minute sprint and all fitness would come out of her. Fat is never good. One does not has to be a sexy model, but one does need to lose weight if starts getting fat, period. Positive mindset does not mean I am fat and I should love myself but rather means how can I better myself. Its lazy people's dialogue "O I am happy with myself" lol.....you will not be happy sweetheart when fats start to block your arteries. BTW, absolutely love Vidya for her personality, not for her fat body.

Dude some people have medical conditions due to which they can't lose weight. It's not cuz they are lazy or eat too much. And also some people have too much work cuz of which they can't get time to workout. Specially indian mothers, they have so many things to look after that they forget to concentrate on their own health.

@@rosypathak5721 hmmmmmm, ofcourse, not denying that. But I dont know if Vidya has medical issues, question is, how do you know lol.....because out of so many reasons, you brought up "medical issue" twice already .....so let say Vidya has medical issues, then she should mention that as a reason for not being able to lose weight rather than encouraging others saying she is fit, she clearly looks fat. Not saying being fat is a fault, but being fat and promoting fat body to fans as a fit body is a problem indeed. People who follow Vidya, will think it is ok to be fat like Vidya.
