Our first highlight is St Stephen's Cathedral, the Gothic heart of Vienna.
Built in 1365, the cathedral impresses with its 137 metre high south tower.
The cathedral is home to one of the largest bells in Europe, the Pummerin.
The colourful roof tiles form the Austrian coat of arms - a real work of art.
St Stephen's Cathedral has over 230,000 tiles, which were used in the restoration after the Second World War.
From the south tower you have a fantastic view over the city.
Next, we explore Schönbrunn Palace, once the summer residence of the Habsburgs.
With 1,441 rooms, it is one of the most important baroque palaces in Europe.
The magnificent gardens extend over 160 hectares and include the oldest zoo in the world.
The palace's Hall of Mirrors was a concert hall for the young Mozart.
In 1961, John F. Kennedy and Nikita Khrushchev met here during the Cold War.
Over 3 million people visit the palace every year - an absolute must!
The Prater - Vienna's amusement park with the iconic Giant Ferris Wheel.
The Giant Ferris Wheel was opened in 1897 and offers a marvellous view of Vienna.
Originally used as an imperial hunting ground, the Prater is now a green oasis.
There are over 250 attractions in the park, from nostalgic carousels to modern rollercoasters.
The Vienna Prater also includes extensive meadows and woods - perfect for relaxing.
The Wurstelprater in the heart of the Prater is the oldest amusement park in the world.
The Hofburg - once the centre of the Habsburg Empire and now the seat of the Austrian president.
The Hofburg is a gigantic complex with over 2,600 rooms.
In the Imperial Treasury you will find the imperial crown of the Holy Roman Empire.
The magnificent ballroom is famous for state ceremonies and balls.
The Spanish Riding School shows classical horsemanship with Lipizzaner horses.
The National Library houses over 7 million objects, including valuable manuscripts.
The Naschmarkt - Vienna's culinary centrepiece.
The market has existed since the 16th century and is now a paradise for gourmets.
Over a length of 2.3 kilometres, there are countless stalls selling fresh food and exotic delicacies.
The Art Nouveau architecture surrounding the market is a feast for the eyes.
Here you can sample famous Viennese specialities such as Sachertorte and Wiener Schnitzel.
A huge flea market is held at the Naschmarkt every Saturday.
The Belvedere Palace - a baroque beauty and world-class art gallery.
Built by Prince Eugene of Savoy in the 18th century, the palace is a baroque masterpiece.
The Upper Belvedere houses an impressive art collection, including Klimt's ‘The Kiss’.
The palace gardens offer ornate terraces and fountains - a perfect place for a stroll.
The Lower Belvedere shows baroque architecture in its full splendour.
The palace was also the scene of important historical events, such as the State Treaty of 1955.
The Hundertwasserhaus - a unique example of creative architecture.
Designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, the building stands for unconventional shapes and bright colours.
The house accommodates 52 flats, each individually designed.
There are no straight lines - the uneven floors and organic shapes are a trademark.
The building is surrounded by lush greenery, demonstrating Hundertwasser's connection to nature.
Nearby you'll find the Kunst Haus Wien, which also displays Hundertwasser's works.
Finally, we visit the impressive MuseumsQuartier - a vibrant cultural centre.
The MuseumsQuartier covers over 60,000 square metres, filled with museums, galleries and studios.
Here you will find the Leopold Museum, famous for its collection of Viennese Modernism and Egon Schiele.
The MUMOK displays modern and contemporary art in a unique architectural setting.
The MQ courtyard is a popular meeting place with cafés and event venues.
The Tanzquartier offers innovative presentations and workshops on dance and performance.
Vienna is a true paradise for explorers.
