This time welcome you from the New Danube, more precisely at the so-called Donauinsel or in modern German COPA BEACH (formerly Copa Cagrana). COPA BEACH is a waterfront promenade near the Imperial Bridge that developed a lively local scene in the 1980s. The COPA BEACH is ideal for a short vacation if you are in Vienna. The best way to get to COPA is by bike / scooter or subway line U1. There are many casual places with good food and cool drinks. Summer, sun, water, cocktails. what more do you want?

I remember my time in Austria riding bikes in the Viennese plain. Brilliant views, nice people, great weather. Lots of wind and sometimes hot, but really lovely. Another video making me want to return to Österreich. Danke!

Yes, bathing is possible, you just have to watch out for currents. It is not a still water, such as the old Danube.

Wow beautiful day and city #1 in the world. I think Vienna started losing some of its magic back in 1995 when Austria joined the EU. After that Austria lost some freedom because they let the EU and their politics influence them too much. Everything was great and affordable with the original Austrian Schilling money system. Then the Euro came. Now everything is too expensive double or triple the price it was before. Oh and there are too many tourists in Vienna now because joining the EU has made this world class city too popular now. This is all sad but true :o(

The tourists are not the problem, the poorly intergrating immigrants from (mostly) muslim majority countries are. Vienna now has one of the highest unemployment rates of all cities in Europe.

I believe, and this is my personal opinion, that the EU has also brought us good things. Not everything, of course, but basically Austria is doing well. It would be important that other countries, such as Hungary, finally get on their feet. At the end of the day, Austrian politics decides a lot and independently of the EU, and here you have to ask yourself whether the governments of the last few years have made good decisions. Does the Austrian government really care warmly about the affairs of the citizens, or is it only about short-term vote catching? Unfortunately, populism is also strong in our country. I seriously wonder how many people can afford to live in this actually rich country. Rents and energy prices are skyrocketing and many people really do work in crappy paying jobs.
