No sound. This was taken by me while stationed in Nam, 1966-1967. This is the 1st Inf. Div. 8/6 Arty. I drove an APC M-113 May our brothers rest in peace.

Thanks for your service. Awesome video. We who never served in war need to be made aware of the sacrifice our young men gave some 50 + years ago in Vietnam. May we never forget

I would like to " Thank You " all for your comments, remember Nam was not a poplar war, but those of us who went will never forget. I left school after 10th and joined at 16, went over at 16, turned 17 over there. Mom signed for me to join the Army at that time. Different today, heard you have to have finished High School before they let you in.. Didn't have much of a childhood, learned how to survive.

We had M-14's then switched to M-16's about early 67 if I remember correctly.. I also had a M-79, M-60, and a 50 on my APC, not counting the 45.

My (ex) husband was too! I would have to look up what his unit was...I only remember he was an ‘Army Ranger’.Sgt. in the infantry. He is now deceased. R.I.P. He had a lot of problems when he got back.

I was with Bravo co. 2nd of 18th in 69/70 call sign Bravo 54 kilo. A great bunch of BRAVE YOUNG MEN doing their duty as the country asked. Between the draft and ask not what your country can do for you of time we did what was asked. DUTY FIRST

@@littlepils4187 Thank you, have a Merry Christmas & Happy New year, talk about drafting them, your right, they would scream and holler, no electronic gizmos, and up early, bed late, some of these people would never make it today.

@@NScaleRailroad That’s what my husband said. I don’t know what unit he was in, but, I still have his letters. I could look it up. He served from about March of ‘67 to March of ‘68. He would have loved to see this. He passed about 7 years ago. We were no longer together, but, we’re good friends...I guess you could say. No bad feelings. He was still my hero. 😥

@@Melinda8162 Sorry to hear he passed. A lot of us had problems when we got back, including me, the VA has me rated at 350% disabled.. Agent orange, PTSD, unemployable.. I went over at 16 and turned 17 the next month, I left school and joined the Army, my mom had to sign for me to get in. I don't regret it. I made it back, the VA and Vet Center helped me control my anger, still not out of the woods yet, I have to watch myself and my wife lets me know if I'm starting the old ways again.. The sad part is the kids today don't know how well off they have it, no draft, volunteer only now. Have a Happy New Year and remember him in your heart.

@@NScaleRailroad Thank you. I know all you say is so true! Yes, he had problems, a very quiet guy, so would not talk. We were young, and I didn't know what to do. Married 14 yrs. So, we stayed in touch...his step daughter let me know he passed, because he moved to FLORIDA. He is buried in a military cemetery there. It's ' Bushnell '. Maybe you know of it. I didn't get to go, was not able to at the time. He just died suddenly. They said heart attack. He had been heavily drinking all those years. So, wishing you the best. I know others struggling like you! You are right... about things today. And, the Vietnam vets, are the heroes to me. You guys deserved so much better. Glad you are getting some help today. Hang in there. 👍. Oh yes, I remember him. Our divorce didn't change that. I still loved him, though we both remarried. You have a good woman, glad to hear that she's helping you!

@@Melinda8162 Thank you for your kind reply, there are still some who are not getting the help they need. I was lucky and got some help, I won't forget Nam but the VA & Vet Center helped a lot. My nephew went to Iraq and came back messed up, I helped a little by getting him to go to the VA and ask for it, he did.. Again thanks for your kind words..
