In 1966 when I graduated from high school, my parents signed for me to buy a 61 Corvette. Talk about instant popularity, that was a fun summer and one that I'll never forget. I saw one for sale in a local classic car dealership the other day and it sold fast for $90.000.

I'm 74 and similar background. Marines 66 and 67. I've had 4 C3's and C5's. I will keep driving them until I can no longer get in and out. I think that may be the only reason I stay in shape...

I am with you. There’s nothing like driving an old Corvette. I had a 1960 back in high school in the early 70’s. It was fun to drive especially when other Corvette guys would wave. I sure miss my 1960 @!wish I had her back.

My brother had 62 vette i was about14 it was such a thrill we would go to Fairmount Park in Philly those curbs and the speed was a real rush

Absolutely classier than a C8. It looks American and yes, it looks Corvette, not Ferrari or Lambo. Love the dashboard and instrumentation. This continued into the C2 years but after that it started warping out into something else. The black and red works very well. Mine was white and black and it was not nearly so nice looking. The only problem with black is how it shows dust, but if you don't mind caring for it, you have a superior looking paint job.

Worse thing is the C8 Corvette doesn't really look like a Ferrari or a Lambo. It's a very strange mid-engine car, with some exotic angles and some minivan lines as well. Hahahaha... I think of Corvettes as front-engine, RWD cars!
