David Hollar, a Vietnam veteran and author, spent his tour overseas as an infantry officer. He served in the U.S. Army for three years and deployed to South Vietnam from September 1969 to August 1970. Hollar opens up about his time leading a platoon at age 25 during his tour, going into grave detail about the horrors of war. When Hollar returned home, he noticed how he had changed both physically and mentally. Decades later, Hollar wrote the books "Mr. NewHeart - Heart Attack to Transplant and Beyond" and "Casualties of War: An Infantry Lieutenant in Vietnam," which are based on some of his life experiences. Thank you for your service, David, and welcome home!
