I remember the mock POW camp ate breakfast at 04:30 didn’t eat all day went to the camp sundown the gave us a small cup of white rice and a small piece of carrot the we made the escape and had to head for the camp fire a few miles away. They had the platoon of recon that would patrol as NVA regulars. They were to capture us send us back to the POW camp to start all over again. There was a 4 man’s guard agains a dozen recon NVA and we ran into 2 groups of 4 so now it was 12 of us so we all decided to capture the dozen recon and sent them to the POW camp we took there rifles and there arm strip and they said you can’t do this oh yes we can so when the 6 BI showed they tried to plead the case. So we got to the finish line we turned in there rifles and ended up with 2 days off base extra. Fun

The 223 cartridge is much smaller so you can carry more ammo, the 223 bullet green tip bullet can kill with one shot, NVA or VC would kill their wounded. The new 300 blackout like a 7.62 x 39 will kill with one shot.

PTSD is an injury to the fight/flight/freeze instinct due to over-stimulation. The injury and the symptoms are automatic. The treatment was not known until the 1980's and is still difficult to obtain. Childhood neglect and childhood stress make adults more likely to be injured in this way when they are stressed later in life, such as in war. The sufferer of PTSD is often stigmatised as "letting it affect them" or "dwelling on the past" or having "victim mentality". Blamed, basically. This kind of blame or persecution can lead to reclusiveness, alcoholism, violent outbursts and suicide.

Located about 25km west of Dong Ha, fairly close to the DMZ. *At 50:25 Lloyd tells an amazing story involving Marine sniper legend, Carlos Hathcock. *Other interesting/funny anecdotes/stories: (20:20) NVA elephant convoy, (54:53) man-eating tiger, (59:54) Floyd Patterson's nephew.

Not even timed right!!! The commercials just disrespect the vets Mid-sentence! The dislikes, are not because of this veteran of our nation. No, the dislikes are the constant carpet-bombing this video with 💩 commercials!!!

Every place he speaks of, I remember fondly. I was in 30 years later, and all of that was still around. The E-Club at DelMar. What a place.

“Are fire 🔥 fights organized?” If I were the vet, I would backhand him. Is going to the jungle on the other side of the world 🌎 during monsoons and tigers 🐯 at night fighting for you Life... is that organized?!?! Are your ads organized? Or your questions? How can a fire fight with 18 yr olds fighting for your literal life and u don’t even speak their language, how the hell is that organized?

right on Lloyd, that was the best most honest, eye opening interview by a vietnam era marine i've heard and i saw how they were treated when coming home I want him to know there are plenty of us who are thankful for his service, and he is spot on about the treatment needed for the vets.

I have always maintained our troops were under armed with the 5.56 round. Michigan bans that round for deer hunting. More likely to wound than kill. That is in the rifle zone.

“M49” opener he meant M38 Also he said 7.62x54 and he meant to say 7.62x51 And the majority of his opinions on the 45ACP are based on the ammunition available 50 years ago and while operating under the Geneva convention prohibiting hollow points; by modern standards in 2022 the 9mm is far superior than the 45acp in nearly every category unless you’re recoil sensitive and/or have little concern about capacity which is why most law enforcement agencies including the FBI and every branch of the US armed forces have adopted the 9mm.

LOL If you want to correct someone you should make sure you're correct 1st..... The can opener is a P38.....you were off as many letters as he was off on numbers between 51 and 54... The 7.62 x 54 is a Russian round and was used during WW2,Korea,Vietnam,Desert Storm,Iraq & Afghan War and still used today in Ukraine. Then the 45...... You may want to talk to frontline Korean War Vets about the 45 and Iraqi Vets like he says. Those lil 9mm would've been even less effective knocking down the Chinese and North Koreans...the .30 carbine was even a poor weapon for that and it has like 3x more muzzle energy and much better ballistics than those POS 9mm. The .40 is a better round than the 9mm but the 9mm is/was adopted because it's lighter in both weight and recoil for today's Nancy's and is also cheaper....plus like Eugene Stoner and his AR series,Stoners, and a slew of other weapons, there is/was a rigged contract.Accuracy is all but identical but energy is a fair bit more for the .40. I have owned both,9 and .40 and I still own the .40.The 9 should stay on the range plinking cans. You're already wrong and even have the interwebs to look it up before you typed, let's see how wrong you'll be when you're around 66 (His age at time of taping). At 50 there has been a couple times I had to think for a moment was it 7.62 x 50,51,or 52..... Have you even seen one that wasn't in a picture let alone touch one???
