@M J Okay I am all for forgiveness. But I am speaking from personal experience. I dated a woman for five years. She was first in the South African airforce then got a job in the UN based in South Sudan. We were planning on getting married this year. I was basically a father to her daughter from a previous relationship. One day her daughter contacted me and told me she was saw naked pictures of a man on her phone and her mother was sending him them. Her mother even told her about this guy. Her daughter was really upset as she enjoyed our little family setting. I didn't want to believe at first but then I looked back at previous correspondences. All the stuff her daughter said added up as certain periods she would disappear. This also was a married man with children. Who was happy to break up our relationship. And deprive a young girl of a potential father. So yes forgive but I would never date someone in the military again.

We also discovered that we had another set of twin brothers who are four years younger than us. THEY DIDN'T WANT TO MEET US, AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY CORRESPONDENCE. (By the way, we are a black family but that didn't matter) We also found two other sisters, but only one sister would ever acknowledge us. With all the cousins, and family we met, this was still a blessing. 💕

I'm looking for my biological grandfather on behalf of my dad. My dad was also born during the war. Never got to meet his real father. All we know is that his real father was an american soldier deployed to Da Nang Vietnam. Wish us luck!

All the best in your search. Start by buying an Ancestral.com kit on ebay you might find some clues there

Michael Maps thank you! I actually did just that a few months back and I found some distant cousins who were connected with that side of the family. I spoke with an aunt (dads bio sister) and she knew exactly who his father was. Unfortunately he passed in 2006 and my dad never got to meet him. But we’re all in contact with the family and it’s been such a blessing.

So happy to see he found his father’s family. Lost connections reunited. So many children of that war need closure.

Awesome reunion story. Sad that his father had already passed on and he didn’t get to know him personally, but from the love and joy of his American family’s embrace at the welcome party I imagine that he finds comfort in seeing his father comes from a family with a huge spirit of love and support.

It is natural to want to know your origins. Whether the people you find are worth knowing is quite another matter.

unfortunately many AA men left offspring overseas while in the military and didn't go back. They came home to their wives and picked up where they left off... Without telling their family they had other children.
