Several years ago, my daughter and I were celebrating her birthday at Red Lobster. When she got up to go to the restroom, I realized their sound system was playing this song. Until then, I'd not heard it for many years. I closed my eyes and sat and silently sang along, remembering all the years that had passed. Now I listen to it every few days and can't help but be reminded about what could have been.

Lagu favorite dari sejak SD tahun 84 an...pas masih tidut sama mama ,..mama tuh sering nyalain radio tengah malam kira kira jam stengah satuan malam dan lagu ini yg sering di putar radio saat itu,.,dan sekali denger lagu ini jadi suka banget dan ngefans sama band nya.... Mama dan Lagu İni,,,duuhhh...memori yang ga kan pernah hilang,,dulu nalam malam dengar radio di rumah di Pejompongan jln Masjid V aahhh,...rumah kenangan itu,..

1982 remember this song so well my 8th grade music teacher she would always have me to come to the piano and sing this song almost every day before class let out didn't like the song at first she would tell me to pay attention to the lyrics I sang it so much i got hooked I was singing it in my sleep I would wake up singing what great memories

Mình có chút góp ý để hoàn thiện hơn cho một số đoạn dịch như sau: 1.The words will never show the you I've come to know" => Câu này có nghĩa "Từ ngữ sẽ không bao giờ đủ để diễn tả con người mà ta đã biết". Nối với câu trên "If a picture paints a thousand words, then why can't I paint you?" bạn đã dịch thì sẽ rõ nghĩa là một bức tranh có thể ẩn chứa ngàn lời, nhưng dù cho có bao nhiêu từ ngữ, lời nói thì cũng không đủ để diễn tả hết về em - con người mà tôi đã biết. Tương tự kiểu trăm nghe không bằng một thấy, miêu tả bằng từ ngữ sẽ là không chính xác, không đủ để nói hết về con người của "em". 2. Tiếp theo: If a face could launch a thousand ships Then where am I to go? There's no one home but you You're all that's left me to => Đoạn này ý nói: Bến đỗ của tôi (con thuyền) thì bến đỗ của tôi nơi đâu. Chẳng có ai ở nhà ngoài "em" cả. Em là tất cả những gì còn lại đối với tôi. Câu "You're all that's left me to" có cấu trúc that's (viết tắt của that is) => Vậy left ở đây không phải thì quá khứ của động từ leave (có nghĩa là rời bỏ, hay như bản dịch của bạn là: đem tất thảy rời xa tôi) => Nghĩa này thay đổi hoàn toàn ý nghĩa của bài hát từ chỗ nhân vật "tôi" đang thể hiện sự nhớ nhung, muốn về nhà, bởi ở đó có 1 người mà anh ta nhung nhớ, là thứ duy nhất quý giá còn lại với anh ta. 3. Then one by one the stars would all go out => Câu này dịch thành "những vì tinh tú ngoài kia sẽ được tự do" cũng hơi tối nghĩa. Cái này thực ra cụm động từ "go out" thường dùng để chỉ việc ánh sáng bị tắt đi, ví dụ như ngọn lửa đã tắt: The fire has gone out. Như vậy câu này có thể dịch là "Rồi dần dần từng vì tinh tú cũng lụi tàn". Cả đoạn này ý nói nhân vật tôi mong muốn ở bên "em" cho tới tận cùng của thời gian, cho tới khi thế giới diệt vong, khi những ngôi sao không còn tỏa sáng nữa thì họ vẫn bên nhau.

Mình có góp ý một xíu. Câu "If a face could launch a thousand ships" đúng ra phải là "Nếu một gương mặt có thể sai khiến cả ngàn con tàu ra khơi". Câu này liên quan đến câu chuyện về vẻ đẹp của nàng Helen thành Troy nhé ạ ^^.
