View of Finchley Central - North London suburb

This video takes you on a short tour of Finchley Central (some parts of which are also known as Church End). The walk takes you through:
- Finchley Central tube station
- Regents Park Road (where you see Catcher in the Rye pub, St Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, and several shops including the ironic camera repairs shop sign)
- Hendon Lane (where you see Pardes School, St Mary's Church and Finchley's Library which is officially called Church End Library)
- Ballard's Lane (where you see various shops including Domino's Pizza & Tesco, and the Finchley Methodist Church)
- Victoria Park & tennis courts

The area is called Finchley Church End. The Underground changed the name of the station to Finchley Central in 1940.

Thanks for the memories. I lived in Glenhill Close for 3 years so the Tube station was pretty close to home. I still remember all the different banks on Ballards Lane as well as the Sainsbury's on the corner of Pricess Lane. My mother actually was on Tesco's opening day when Margaret Thatcher cut the ribbon inaugurating the store.

It all looks like this. The catcher in the rye is familiar. Nope, I can't remember ever spending much time here. I would have gone to the Dominos and Baskin Robbins. Probably going some where else. Why wouldn't I go to an American franchise if I was ever there. Baskin Robbins is all over and neither is Dominos. Too far away from where I was, unless it was specific. NO!
