Shane put this video together for me in record time. The reason I requested the extra step is that I fly high-powered 3d helicopters and fixed wing models and I have bumped the switch with a few close calls. This video is exactly what I'm looking for and explained very well. I hope this video helps others who are unsure how to program something like this. Thanks Shane. very much appreciated

I love the complexity of things you can do with EdgeTX. Often times I wonder if there's ever a "best practice" for some of these things, but the fact you can do this complex stuff is GREAT !

Definitely better ways to do things than others. I often go back and look at old "code" I've done to make mixes or routines and see ways to improve it. I've had viewers make suggestions that eliminated several logical switches to accomplish the same thing. Keeps you thinking and using your imagination! Thanks for watching and for your comment!

If you have information to send me you can use my email. shanesdiychannel (at) gmail (dot) com I'd like to get your model yml file. Open your SD card contents, look at the "labels.yml" file and find the name of the plane in question. It will have an associated model file name like "model9.yml". Copy that yml file and email it to me. I can load it on my radio and see exactly if there is an issue with your setup.

I use two of the six buttons for my Throttle cut, I like when you turn on the transmitter it's already Throttle disabled

Good option. I just tried the requested version featured in this video and it also defaults to throttle cut on power up so that is one good reason to use that method over my default method. Even if the throttle cut toggle is set to active, you still have to throttle up and down before it will activate.

I considered adding a photo of someone injured from an RC prop but they were too awful! KZbin would have flagged it! I think most of us, myself included, are a little to complacent about prop safety.

A good T Cut with logic is the way to go. Taking the props of when working on powered models/quads, Safe Lipo care, transport, and storage, and skin damage from the sun, top of my list.@@shanesdiy

Another way of Throttle cut is put the Throttle on transmitter to half, won't arm until its sees Throttle down

Did you watch the video? That sounds like my default method unless I am misunderstanding you. Great thing (or bad thing for some I guess) is that thereare a 100 ways to accomplish the same thing in EdgeTX!

can you help, i have the edge tx16s MKii, with ar631 spektrum, for extra 300 bnf plane, i programmed the plane many times, but the the throttle stick at the lowest point making engine run and when i also move the stick up, still running, not sure what is causing all this

First things that come to mind are: 1. Check that your throttle trim is at zero and in the outputs make sure the throttle channel doesn't have any sub-trim applied. 2. Did you recently install any gimbal stick ends or gimbal spacer rings? They can sometimes make the sticks hit the transmitter case not allowing them to go all the way to -100 or +100 without re-adjusting the gimbal mechanical end stops. 3. Perform a stick calibration, make sure the throttle stick is moved to the mid (0) position when it says to center the sticks, pots, and sliders. 4. Do you have any mixes or special functions that are working with the throttle channel? If watching this video I can presume you have a throttle cut/channel override. Make sure that isn't holding the throttle channel > -100. If you have a mix or curve setup for the throttle channel, double check that it allows the throttle channel to go to -100 with the stick down.

@@shanesdiy no new gimbal , no trims set to -100 to 100 however it only goes one way if I look at the throttle channel

If you monitor the throttle output channel does it sit at -100 at minimum throttle and go to +100 at full throttle? If yes, I would do a throttle calibration. Power on the transmitter, leave a full throttle. power on the plane, after the first beeps, reduce the throttle stick to minimum and see if it will reset.

@@shanesdiy the throttle channel is set to -100 to 100 . I calibrated it 5 times already as well, and deleted the model and created a new one. When the left throttle stick is all way down, the propellor is running at full force, when i move the left stick up, still moving at full force.

@@user-mq2ok5bt2i If you click MDL then nagivate to the outputs screen, watching the throttle channel (typically channel 3) do you see the output moving? If it is not moving, do you have a throttle cut programmed? If so, it is likely overriding the throttle stick. Another thing I just thought of, are you sure you channel mapping for Spektrum isn't changing the throttle channel? Try moving all the other sticks to see if another is effecting throttle. For example, AETR is the most common channel order in the TX16S and the multi-module converts that to TAER. If in the model setup you turned off channel mapping (check box in your RF setup that says "Disable Ch. map"), your aileron stick would be operating the throttle. If this is the case, uncheck the "Disable Ch. map" in the model setup

In your model setup if you set the Timer 1 Mode to "Throttle" the timer will only run when the throttle is above minimum. If you set the mode for "Throttle%" the timer will run only when the throttle is above minimum and will also run faster with more throttle. At 100% throttle the timer runs 1 second = 1 second. Lower throttle levels the timer runs slower since you are using battery at a slower rate. Throttle mode set to "Throttle Start" the timer will start as soon as you throttle above minimum but will not stop when you take the throttle back to minimum, it will keep counting down.
