NFL viewers are upset with play-by-play announcer Tony Romo for “ruining” the final call of Super Bowl LVIII. Rather than allow fans to let the moment sink in, he rambled on for 30 seconds while players celebrated on the field.

Wow, that's a lot of grief for poor Tony Romo. His call didn't keep people from enjoying the moment. I think that is a silly argument. It didn't bother me and I don't personally know of a single person who watched the game and said a word about Romo's broadcast.

nah, it just ruined the immersion a bit for me. Last play, A TD for claiming a close game, Nantz closed the game, let the moment breathe. People were still celebrating, the height of the moment was still in its peak, and here comes Romo keep on repeating "tHiS iS tHe aNdY rEiD sPeCiAl!" even though the replays weren't even rolling yet Listen to the final call of SB 51. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman did it way better than this

People loved him because he was correctly guessing plays from the booth (probably because he saw these things in the film room and on the field the year before). But a couple years later as the league was changing, he didn't catch up at that point in time.

Agree. It never crossed my mind that Romo was possibly annoying some fans with his contribution to the play. He was doing his job imo. If he had said nothing like some suggest there would be people saying 'what are they paying for? He said nothing'. Can't please everyone.
