Hasselt is a Belgian city and municipality, and capital of the province of Limburg. The centre is mostly car-free and contains a number of historical buildings. Among the oldest buildings in the town centre are the St. Quentin's Cathedral (11th to 18th centuries) and the "Herkenrode Abbey refuge house" (1542). The Grand Place and the nearby streets are lined with restaurants brasseries, cafes and taverns.

***** met village bedoel je dat Hasselt een dorp is... een dorp!!? Ik ben niet van Hasselt zelf maar woon kortbij dus ik ga geregelt uit in Hasselt, er is enorm veel te beleven 's avonds en veel clubs, lounges, bars, winkelstraten enzovoort. Antwerpen en Gent zijn indd groter maar heb er gestudeert en savonds voelde ik me daar toch niet echt veilig in veel buurten
