I just love watching you, Cloud and your family in the kitchen, Steph.❤ I'm one of 4 sisters, (tho we lost the 2nd eldest back in 1999), and being the eldest, I was always the cook in the family. My happiest times have been in the kitchen with my sisters. 😊 We cut up, joke around, laugh, sing and dance around. It's like a party when we get together, even tho our ages are 61, 57 and 46! I agree with you about using your senses when cooking. I've done that when cooking bacon on top of the stove. I can hear the oil cooking it too a point then it quiets after it's ready on one side then I flip the bacon on the other side to cook. For crispy bacon.
