The beginning is so great, sharp, exact rythm, real virtuosity (in the best sense of the word). His melancholique tone impressed me always. You often hear this concert played on a bad level, but here everything is shining.

Yea, its fantastic from a technical virtuoso. But still the best in my opinion is the recording from my favorite player, Timofei Dockshitzer.

i've listened to this man since i was a high schooler in the early 2000's. Such a smooth velvety tone and so much talent. Wish he would visit San Francisco!

He played with the Marin Symphony a few years ago. He played the then came back with an encore - Carnival of Venice. Did not miss a note in either (I am a trumpet player and know both very well - no missed notes! And what beautiful tone and musicality). The symphony also performed the Shostakovich Symphony Nr. 10 in a great performance. This is a really fine orchestra. I think Sergei is the finest wind player and artist ever.

Браво оркестру и солисту , но как как ученик первого исполнителя этого концерта и сын которого учился композиции у Александра Арутюняна хочу выразить несколько пожеланий ...B начале концерта Взлётная гамма не должна быть стаккато: это взлёт Орла a нe топот коня .Mестами стаккато слишком отрывисто ,онo должнo poкoтать ,но не стрекотать! B медленной части ,струнные не должны размазывать синкопы , a должны уподoблять бубенчикaм идущего каравана !!!

eh. This guy is the greatest stunt trumpeter I've ever heard, but I don't know how well it translates in other areas. Amazing artist, but maybe should stick to more fast paced technique heavy stuff.

Ryerson Shippee has an excellent recording of Sergei Nakariakov playing the Arutunian in one of his videos. At the beginning he takes more time on the eighth notes and plays it with more flamboyance and equal grace and understanding of the piece. I prefer it to this one, though superb.
