Jagjit sahib was Raja of ghazal but mehdi hassan sahib was Shahensha e Ghazal. Aaap muhabbat main kuch ziaadatti kar gaye hain..:)

Jagjit had to get his foot in the door 1968 to 1975 and the only door was via the Mehdi Hasan style. A real rough spell , Money problems, lack of Parental support , falling in love with a non Punjabi Divorced woman who was 2 yrs older than him that family did not accept , peddling his talents for pennies to idiot rich people.. in private home music sessions ... ,. The one bright support was Madan Mohan Kohli household who kind of adopted him and where he could go for a meal...plus music advice. Thus Jagjit input to Veer zaara album ... ehsaan faramosh nahin ! And no mention of Jagjit name in the film credits.
