Vikas Divyakirti, founder Drishti IAS Tuesday broke his silence about deaths of 3 UPSC aspirants in Delhi Old Rajendra Nagar. Speaking with news agency ANI he said, 'the kind of effort we put in the matter of building safety norms, I am sure that you will not find it anywhere. We appointed a divisional head rank officer 1.5 years ago, who only looks after the safety of the building. In January 2023, we created a WhatsApp group, I am its member, the work of that group is to check 16 points whether the doors are open, the fire exit is clear, there is no obstruction on it, the roof doors are open so that in case of an emergency, students can be taken out. These 16 points are checked daily...I would like you to get a chance if you can do a survey, go to any of our branches in Delhi or outside Delhi, if any building does not have at least 2 exits, then I am responsible. We do not take such buildings on rent which do not have fire exits...Only so that under no circumstances the life of any child or staff is compromised. This is our intention. I made a mistake in understanding, I apologize to the entire country, the entire society that a mistake was made, that the mistake should not be repeated in future.'---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is clearly a failure of DDA and MCD who are not giving NOCs and letting all coaching centres, malls, restaurants operate Till some of us die, then they put a lock for few days, take bribe and re-open.

You might be angry but they had the least role in this tragedy. Ojha is right with his 4 points. Vikas Divyakirti has rightly highlighted the issues in policy framework. Getting resignation of MCD Mayor or the officials won't secure people's lives. Issues are structural. They need structural solution.

Also cumulatively they represent coaching institutes thereby anguish and anger is justified. Moreover, it could have happened at his institute too since he was too flouting laws. Lastly, blame game and saying metro and palika bazar runs in basement won't bring back three lives.

Why isn't any regulatory body taking action? There are civil servants like commissioners, police officers, city planners, municipality personnel, and fire safety officers, as well as sanitary inspectors for commercial places, yet nothing has changed in over 30 years. Even though there have been big coaching institutions for ages, new influxes of coaching are attracting new students. Why aren't the existing regulatory bodies working? Why hasn't a petition been filed in the courts when fundamental rights to life are compromised by these filthy ground-level situations? Society lacks empathy. No one truly feels the pain of these untimely and unfortunate deaths. These students are not just students; they are also sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters. The authorities and celebrity teachers are simply passing the buck, behaving as if they've done their part and are unaffected. Everyone knows about these irregularities but behaves as if this suffering doesn't impact them. Students pay exorbitant fees for coaching classes, yet if they raise concerns, the whole "administration" blames the students and suggests they resort to social media. It's a shameful and sorry situation.

Idk who is watching this, if you are from delhi, then prrolly you know about it but if you are not from delhi then you should know about the drainage system of Delhi. MCD has not cleaned any sewer line and most of the time, the sewage is coming out of pot hole and flowing on road. Even 30mins and 60 mins of rain is causing 4ft high water clogging on raods ... if it rarins for 3 hrs, a full SUV can submerge ....

इस मामले पर पूरी जिम्मेदारी अथॉरिटी की है। देश में कुछ घटना घट जाने के बाद ही सरकार को होश आता है, बाकी समय ये मोटी रकम खा कर चुप बैठे रहते हैं । छात्रों का प्रदर्शन भी तर्कसंगत की जगह जिंदाबाद मुर्दाबाद वाला ज्यादा दिख रहा हैं।

MCD got bribe from coaching center , now they got another chance to take more money . where is administration before the rain ... whose responsibility is to clean drainage ? Why Dristhi IAS responsible for this tragic incident?
