भारतीय दर्शन की लंबी और समृद्ध परंपरा रही है। वैदिक काल से लेकर बौद्ध-जैन और फिर आधुनिक काल तक भारतीय दर्शन का वैविध्यपूर्ण स्वरूप निर्मित हुआ है। इसलिये इसकी गहराइयों में जाने के पूर्व यह आवश्यक ही है कि हम इसकी मूलभूत विशेषताओं से परिचित हो जाएँ और इसके विकासक्रम को ठीक से समझ लें।
इस वीडियो में मैंने कोशिश की है कि आप संक्षेप में भारतीय दर्शन की बुनियादी विशेषताओं, इसकी विकास यात्रा, प्रमुख दार्शनिक और उनके विचार आदि से अवगत हो जाएँ। मुझे उम्मीद है कि दर्शन और उसके सिद्धांतों को जानने-समझने की इच्छा रखने वाले साथियों के लिये यह चर्चा विषय प्रवेश की तरह सहायक हो सकेगी।

A very short information:- *RIGVEDA* : Oldest veda and divided into 10 books and has 1028 hymns. *YAJURVEDA* : Consist of handbooks for the performance of yajnas. *SAMAVEDA* : Consists of chants and melodies sung during the performance of yajnas and worship. *ATHARVAVEDA* :A large collection of hymns,chants and mantras .The Atharvaveda is the oldest literary monument of Indian medicine. It is the origin of Ayurveda, the Indian science of medicine. *UPANISHADS* : Origin of Vedanta and the philosophical essence of vedas ; There are 108 upanishads. Some important are-Isa ,Kena ,prasna, Mandukya,chandogya, brihad aranyak,Aitareya ,etc. *VEDANTA SUTRA* (Brahma sutra):- These are composed by sage Vyasa to systemize the teachings of Upanishads.There are a total of 550 aphorisms divided into 4 chapters. *ITIHASAS* (epics): There are two epics: Ramayana by Sage valmiki and Mahabharata by Veda vyasa. *BHAGAVAD GITA* : Instructions and Wisdom given by Lord krishna to Arjuna during the battle of kurukshetra. *PURANAS* : There are 18 puranas which are compiled from the related historical facts explaining the vedas. Some are Brahmanda puran, Devi puran , Kurma puran, Markandeya, Matsya, Vamana, Varaha, Vayu, Vishnu puran , etc. *DHARMA SHASHTRA* (Law books): They deal with 3 main subjects: Code of conduct,civil and criminal law, punishment and atonement. Most important of them is Manu smriti(manu samhita) which is still consulted in Indian law. *VEDANGAS* : Auxillary science related with vedic study such as Astronomy , Astrology and phonetics. *UPAVEDAS* : Sciences of different genres.i.e Dhanurveda-deals with the art of warfare. Ghandarvaveda- deals with the music Silpa veda- deals with art and architecture. Ayurveda- deals with meducine. *VERNACULAR LITERATURE* : Many subsidiary vedic texts were written in Bengali, odia , Tamil, brijbasi ,Gujarati, etc.

Sir I'm an engineering student and Ive been interested in philosophy since I was in class 11-12 but i did not get any proper point where I could start (or maybe i was just being ignorant and lazy). This series is a blessing for me as I'm now getting a structured knowledge in philosophy from you and Im following these lectures very religiously. Sir, there will be one request from my side, can you please provide some study material for us to read, like the information you write on the board (the maps) which help in making a structure about what happened, when and how, as we all watch the lecture but forget some stuff after some time and it will be very inconvenient to watch the lecture again and again. So atleast, can you please provide a map-like structure so that we can keep in mind what we have learnt from the lectures and whenever we want to recall something we can refer to it. And at last, very thank you for this series 🙏. It has given me a headstart in learning philosophy and now i'll be following your lectures along with reading some books

Kaivalya is the term used for liberation in Yoga darshan. Kaivalya in Jainism is used for keval jnan which means omniscience. It is one of the qualities of liberation in Jainism. As per my knowledge Jainism also use term Moksha for liberation.
