Apart from the terrible music, the content you describe as high availability seems contrary to what control-m advocate which is high availability installation whereby you install a secondary control-m/EM server and a secondary control-m Server which (depending on the type of database underpinning them) will enable automatic failover in the event that the primary stops logging to the database for a set duration. What you've described seems more like active-passive clustering (Also referred to as high availability vs load balancing but never mentioned in their HA videos). Reason I was watching was specifically to understand whether hostgroups is a recognised strategy for resilience for agents (which I can't find covered elsewhere)

I am not sure if things have changed recently, I have not worked almost from four to five years on Control-M. My experience is more of only until Control-M V8.

@djmachet Yes, host groups can actually be used as HA solution for agents. Just that the hosts should be identical.
