I'm just in awe of the powerful performances from these two soap legions. This scene alone is Emmy worthy. To think of the dark places they both had to tread through to deliver this scene is unimaginable. The greatest tragedy is the "shows" that litter the airwaves now do not come within the same area code of showcasing the talent of this caliber.

They did. Tori started the conversation with Dorian. Princess while Dorian began the revelation. Tommy right before Dorian was pushed down the stairs and Jean at the end. The only ones that didn't was Nikki and Victor.

When Viki says "He was my father..." I absolutely LOVE the look in Dorian's eyes when she says "He was my husband!" Like, "don't you see? He betrayed us both!"

Actually, "Princess" was the first to be abused (the mirror image, if you will, of "Viki's" then 7 year old self) and THEN "Niki" was created to deal with the sex, because she wasn't related to "Victor". This is what "Tori" tells "Clint" after he stops her from burning down "The Banner" and she takes him to "Victor's" crypt to escape the police. "Viki's" alter that was a recreation of "Victor" was born of the threat to keep the secret, which also prevented "Viki" from knowing about the abuse.

Why would the writers make Jessica suffer from DID after having already written this? Jess, Tess, Bess, etc. only serve to cheapen the quality of this storyline, which is far superior.

There was nothing wrong with Introducing Jessica’s DID storyline. Tess’s revenge against Natalie was well deserved. The only problem is that the writers continue to revisit the storyline. It made Jessica looked completely weak.

Actually, you're right even even slezak almost refused to play the story unless some tweaks were made like Nikis' involvement. D.I.D. is rarely a passes down disease. It's a direct result of a combination of post-traumatic stress disorder and sexual or deep physical abuse. It does have tendencies in schizophrenia as well. But that's an entirely different disease.

That stupid Mitch Laurence/"Victor Is Alive and Needs a Heart" story was the biggest shark jump this side of the Fonz! Moving as far away from that as possible, it's interesting seeing these for the first time in 12 years and now analyzing which personalities were present during the "confrontation". I sense a little Niki at the door when Vike first comes in.

i have to agree. I think you can even see the beginning of her fragmenting way back right after Sloan died. I remember a scene with her and Larry where she did not seem quite like herself and more like Jean. Slezak is just incredible!

Dorian almost died for Viki, I mean she could told during the trial, Sloan writing that or Nora but she didn't she held back that secret knowing it could have killed her.

Viki blocked the door when she arrived as Dorian tried to leave. She "asked" for it! But that's what makes them great actress's. Feel pity for one and anger towards the other.

@jase1010 You're right. 'Victor' was warning Victoria (after a confrontation with David) and Erin Torpey's Jessica came into the room. Victor shouted at her "GET OUT!" Then he changed and calmly reached out.."Jessica" Then VIKI: "NO! DON'T YOU DARE LAY ONE HAND ON MY DAUGHTER!"

I know it's TV, but Viki is clearly coming apart at the seams and Dorian just keeps at it. What in the world possessed Dorian to do this herself? She should've called for help from *someone*, or everyone, by about two-thirds of the way through this clip.

Yes. I have most of this story line up to and including Viki learning that Tori smothered Victor, starting from Dorian telling her that David & Tina got married, because he's not Victor's son... I missed an episode here and there, and the picture (because of the reception) isn't all that great on some of the recordings...

Even though Dorian can be vicious and scheming; in this case, she was terribly accurate on this situation. In a way, Dorian did Viki a favor by telling her the awful truth. Victor committed a horrid crime to his daughter and he burns in hades to this day!

I think you're right Central, in clip 1... I stated how Viki wasn't herself when you arrived at Dorian's... I think that was Tori, near the stairs before Bo arrives it was Tommy, after Bo leaves its Jean and in the study it was Princess.

According to most info on Dissociative identity disorder, the traumatic event(s) have to happen in VERY early childhood, before a 'sense' of identity is established in a person... From birth to about 5, but I think the standards of Television would not allow a story to depict the violent sexual assault of a child under the age of 7. It would have been considered obscene.

I don't think she was Tori when she came in. Tori and Dorian would have been sitting there agreeing about what a bastard Victor was and plotting how to go and blow up his masoleum - LOL! She was Viki when she came in. Tori was the one who like to burn up all of Victor's stuff; such as Llanfair, The Banner, etc.

Sometimes if a soap scene is set to run at the end of the episode, they will reshoot the scene and run it at the top of the next episode. OLTL did this frequently.

I swear to God there was a scene in which Victor Lord emerged out of Viki and was moving to rape Jessica, and that's when Viki was able to break through and stop him, and finally went to the crypt and admitted to the whole family how sick she was. Then she started therapy. Does anyone have that scene?

Reply is 3 years late. But i believe the sound was used throughout the story, almost like a cue to signal when an alter was taking control. In this case, I think it was to signal Viki splintering into others.
