I teach high school math in Anaheim CA. During Covid, I play tunes before classes start and each day has a theme. Today is thrashing Thursdays and this album is playing.

First time hearing this band. They're a lot better than I expected. Clean tight riffing, interesting and fairly unique guitar leads, and pretty good vocals - many thrash metal bands are lacking in the latter department.

Metal till the end 🤘♥️🎸1:19 - 23:44 and that guitar tone!, 29:34 viscious, amazing songs🤘

@dowens37813 жыл бұрын
What's wrong with the lyrics?
@emperorsavron-peterdewind03583 жыл бұрын
@@dowens3781 I simply hate the lyrics that refer to society, religion, love, life, god, christianity, social and human issues, history, politics and introspection... I adore themes such as evil, nature, individualism, myths, anti-christianity, folklore, death, war, satanism, hatred, winter and pride... That's why I don't listen to thrash metal anymore and I listen to black metal...
@dowens37813 жыл бұрын
@@emperorsavron-peterdewind0358 Really? I much prefer metal bands who write about the former topics - there needs to be much more of them. Fantasy, satanic and gore lyrics are dumb and cheesy to me - I grew out of that stuff when I was 16. I like lyrics that relate to real life, and unless you're actually a Satanist, a sadist or a serial killer, how can a person relate to lyrics about those subjects? It's really immature. Metallica mainly wrote about real life shit (including war, death, mental illness and other dark heavy topics), and they're the greatest metal band ever. Black metal just makes me laugh - a bunch of dorks in corpse paint acting all tough and evil when most of them probably still live at home with their parents.
@emperorsavron-peterdewind03583 жыл бұрын
@@dowens3781 dude, I'm the exact opposite case!!! Life, love, society, religion, politics and christianity sound way too dumb and mainstream to me - I hate these stuff since 15 - and, if you want to know, you can enjoy some lyrical themes no matter which are your personal beliefs (I love satanic lyrics although I'm an atheist)... Rotting Christ and Darkthrone never spoke about social problems or life... Instead, they wrote about occultism and spiritual rebellion and that's why they are fuckin great bands!!! What you say about black metal are right at some point, 'cos the scene is full of posers like king ov hell, gaahl and amaly brown. But black metal as an entity is NOT a bunch of dudes in face paint trying to be evil, is an entire way of life against all trends and fashions, something that bands such as Mayhem, Darkthrone, Satyricon, Emperor, Gorgoroth, Nargaroth, Satanic Warmaster and Rotting Christ show!!! Personally, social themed songs make me feel sick and bored. Like come on, the dudes who write always about real life topics (sociopolitical themes, war and "death") are nothing to me but a bunch of dudes in jackets and jeans who only yell "fuck the system!", "stop the war that capitalism began!" and "the power is ours!", doing nothing but trying to show how politically and socially active they are!!! And I want to mention some dudes who compose stuff about religion and christianity!! They look to me as a handful of religious people who pray for salvation and preach about their christian beliefs all the time, saying "deus vult!" and praising virginity and the "old good medieval times", wanting to show gow great they are!!! Similar goes to those dudes who write about philosophical and abstract themes, to my eyes they look just some silly dudes who want to "think outside the box" and philosophize all the time, reaching the point of insanity (Nergal for example and Gaahl)... But, anyways, it's just my opinion, and what you say it's your opinion, so, I respect your opinion and I decide to end this conversation right now... (By the way, I hate also lyrics about introspection, human conditions, scenery, thoughts, drugs (like my buddy Euronymous), sorrow, morality, mental problems, history, philosophy, humour, passion, gothic themes, romance, emotions and feelings (especially the dark ones)...)
@dowens37813 жыл бұрын
@@emperorsavron-peterdewind0358 So basically you're not socially conscious or in touch with your feelings, so you enjoy music that's fantasy/escapism-based - I get it. To each their own, but as I said, I'm the opposite - I love the early 90's grunge and heavy alternative bands like Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Tool, RATM, Rollins Band, and other who talk about social injustices, personal struggles, and dark feelings.
