This is a great product, and I hope we never have to use it, but I feel safer having it. You do still have to bring a separate ditch kit, which should include all of the other stuff you'll need to survive.

To the people who make liferafts, there are new technologies, for instance, there are solar panels that are fabric, so that people could recharge flashlights or cell phones or apple watches or whatever devices to help people find them.

The flotations tubes should have one more layer of redundancy. In a survival situation. 1 is none. 2 is one and 3 is two. It should have 3 flotation tubes.
@DeVeith

Each tube is able to support the entire raft on it's own. You would need to poke a hole through both to sink it.

There should be some sort of filter on the rain collector. If it’s raining in the ocean, it’s possible for cross contamination in the water. Ideally you would just want a filter that filters salt and bacteria out of the salt water around you so you never run out of drinking water. It would make the life raft more expensive but trust me I’d buy it many times over if my life depends on it.

You could also design modules that could be deployed in any environment. Say like space? In the desert heat or subzero artic? You could even design one that could submerge itself in order to wait out ruff seas. Why get tossed around on the waves when you could be safe and sound under them?

@@ricky8562 - "in theory"... not really. Liferafts are only designed/built to last about a week at most. They are built on the assumption that rescue usually occurs within a few days. After that, all the parts will slowly start deteriorating, chafing, and coming apart. Keeping a liferaft afloat on the ocean for more than a few weeks is *extremely* difficult, as those who've had to do so have testified.

Design the emergency shelters to collapse back into a hard shell case. You could design them like balls that can inflate and deflate back into their protected ball shape if not inflated with foam. Campers would love something like this. Rather then pitch a tent then have to fold it all back up? Not to mention the heating and cooling unit built into it? Old or damaged units cold be recycled and a trade in discount could be offered has incentive or has an insurance package? Time to branch out your investment where it really counts! In order to improve the quality of people lives. ; )

Why not design these for emergency shelters? With solar panels and heat conductors that change heat into power to run a heating and cooling unit built right into its design. These shelters could also be inflated with with foam that hardens making the shelters more durable and longer lasting. They could be designed to connect with each other even with a green house if the outside air was too toxic. Just a helpful idea. = )

You could incorporate the lite metal technologies into designs and even design emergency capsules for tall buildings. Activate a capsule get in strap in and fall off the building the capsule would protect the occupant from blunt force from the micro latice of the lite metal frame work. These could also be used on air planes has well. Designed to protect people has they fall back to the ground. Get the right designers together and just about anything is possible. This has both military and practical uses! Bottom line is the money! Sell the right designs and support systems and then sit back and watch the money work for you! Has you make a huge difference in many lives while doing it! ; )

@Texaca
@Texaca 5 жыл бұрын
that's a lot of milk bottles, just where do you store them, and how do you deploy them, to save you. I'm not criticizing, I'm just curious. Your statement has some merit to it. Have you engineered a test unit? You'd also need high quality bottles, that'll resist deterioration when exposed to UV light.
@ghostwolf6488
@ghostwolf6488 8 жыл бұрын
A few Major big problems, you didn't include a fishing pack, emergency food, satellite distress beacon. that water catch is awful. As soon as a wave splashes sea water into that, its instantly contaminated. The exposed rubber flooring is terrible against sea water for more than 2 weeks, lastly, there is no drainage for sea water taken onboard. You'd get some mean rashes. I like the shape and use of the lights, although a cheap solar lighting system would work a lot better. I suggest a RO Hand pump or at least a solar still included in the kit.
@KiloByte69
@KiloByte69 7 жыл бұрын
What fucking video were you watching? 6:18 - Emergency food 4:19 - Internal bailing system Solar lighting? Glad to know I'm guaranteed to have adequate sunlight to charge it. Lastly, the supplies are dependent on local regulations and could easily be modified to include a "fishing kit" and emergency beacon.
@cannack
@cannack 6 жыл бұрын
solar lighting wouldn't be the worst idea, even built in just for the roof beacon EPIRB on the ship likely operates on the GLONASS/GPS system so that would go off imediately, all ocean going vessels require at least a buoyant 121.5mhz beacon, thast why once clear you deploy the sea anchor so when the distress signal is picked up the first place searchers look is directly where the ship sank and work outwards i know some people who have so called ditching bags ,alot of of water, food, smoke and flares, a satilite based EPIRB, a marine vhf radio, flashligts, fishing kit, sea sickness tabs and a beefy first aid kit, you cant have all this stuff built into a raft for size and weight require ments, thats found on large lifeboats
