Well here comes depression again. None of these are Viking quotes, there is no record or writings from them. The blue tattoos they supposedly had is even 100% myth. Even the history of Viking pagan beliefs were told by 2 Christian monks who claimed they were met and recorded the story by Asgardians. Vikings left nothing other than carved symbols and stories told of them by others, apparently Vikings are the epitome of not snitching...

@@nooodls1 Very little of what you wrote is true. The majority of these are from Hávamál, in various verses. They were written down in the Codex Regius and are much older than the book is. The tattoos were not scandinavian in any way. Those were Pictish or whatever the tribes were that were displaced and bothered by the Romans.

It's interesting to me that people are surprised that ancient people had insight. Other than language and a little cultural variation, there's not a great deal of intellectual or emotional difference between you and I and the ancient Egyptians, or ancient Greeks, or any other people from the distant past. We've had a great deal of technological advancement, but the shared experience of being human is as old as humanity. They've found clay tablets written in cuneiform where people complained about things like not being invited to parties or how much they hated their mother-in-laws. Our earliest ancestors felt love and loss, hate and shame, joy and sorrow, fear and pride--everything a human being can feel, they felt. They recognized the difference between a foolish act and a wise one. They struggled with good and evil. They baked bread, drank beer and wine, argued about politics, cheated on their spouses, worried about their kids--everything that people do, we've always done. All we have that they didn't is a larger accumulation of technical know-how. They were every bit as human as we are, and we are every bit as human as they were. I don't know why, but I find that extremely poignant. You and I are part of something that's been going on longer than anyone could possibly remember, and there's a great deal of hope in that.

I agree Andrew, I just wish we still were limited to swords and bows and medieval weapons (ja it may get to that lol, hope not) but the reason I would prefer that is that you would need to have some guts and skill and the respect and loyalty of your fellow warriors, if you didn't have their respect - there would be a good reason for that, the person would be untrustworthy. - nobody would have your back, and there were severe consequences for being disloyal, especially amongst the other men, cos they kept you alive in shieldwall. In those days Masculinity was respected - because it kept all the people alive, theres nothing toxic about protecting your family and village, but somehow having the propensity and even skill for violence, strategy and tactics (which is a survival skill) is now labelled toxic... so the things that kept us alive until today are labelled evil and rejected. Id like to see how the 'new' virtues hold out for the next 3000 years lol... the most prised virtue in my native culture WAS loyalty - but todays culture has destroyed that, so if civilisation is challenged then those virtues of old will very quickly become important as the communities that embrace them will be the only ones to survive. just my uneducated opinion

But its good to know them in their different context, as they apply to different aspects of duties, tasks, principles and goals. One has to have them woven in wisdom, not simply look at how they are similar. To what are you going to use each one and apply them. Thats the point. You cannot say rome was not built in a day and have that applied to someones certain time frame or goal, for its context is way out of range, these philosophers are talking specifics on different yet more useful aspects. If some people would have had these type of knowledge and wisdom, they may not have given up on their goals. Alot of us quit when it's tough, like Thomas Edison said, Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up and Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. One must learn either to pace themselves with diciplined planning and action, and or ask for help, have the right counsel, and right resources, this is not a easy task for some people, most of us hit a wall and get discouraged, some quit, yet these philosophers and prophets and business men show us many have faced similar tasks and have overcome them, we must be the ones to overcome our goals as well.

@@soulextract640 In a general sense, i like to stick with the more modern guys, which is related to more business aspects, it sparks quicker processing, thats why I wouldnt wanna make it a vendetta to dive too much into these historical philosophers, but some of their teachings is to a degree astounding and useable in other areas of our lives. To make it seem doable, they remind me of having callused thought, a structure for your mind, like Marcus Tellius said, a room without books is like a body without a soul. Jim rhon says that all the time, you can tell and gauge alot about a man of woman, by looking into their library. Which is a part of their mental factory, he use to read the newspapers, and news about random tragedies, which depletes our focus and drives us of course, while he became stoutly efficient in work and habits, and fundamental by reading and being around more productive goal driven people. We too must do that constantly and consistently to grow and gain more knowledge and wisdom more so applicable ones. Not random ones but useable ones we can practice.

that was outstanding can i use these quotes in my animation? my animation is based on the world of the native america and norse and celtic that happens in scottland all events on my animation is fictional and not related to real history i'm working on it but i need some quotes that it is for the main charcter from his ancestors and family that got killed can i use these norse quotes i will credit you thx! i saw your native american quotes video too i think i need those quotes too do you let me use it in my animation?🙃🙂🙂🙂🙂
