My wife & kids got here in the US last May 2023. Until now, they don't have their Green Cards or even the Authorization to Work so they can get their SSN. And I paid lots of money for the processing fee. While some people just crossed the border illegally the government received them wholeheartedly.

So sad. They deny her a tourist/visitor visa - which most anyone should be able to get - because her husband is a US citizen and there’s a ‘risk’ that she’ll over stay here. But then the actual spouse visa takes 2 years. They’re not taking into account that he lives in the Philippines off season also, so she only wants to come during the season. They could probably issue her a tourist visa on Monday morning, literally, which she can use to travel back and forth till she gets her spousal visa to stay permanently. Hope someone can help this couple.
@Nanong334
@Nanong334 9 ай бұрын
Because she has a pending petition for spousal visa petition that the immigration thinking that once she comes here in US she would convert it to residency here...sometimes immigration doesnt think that it is the same she can become an immigrant once the spousal petition approve... the fastest way should be the fiancee visa .It would be better if there's no record of any petition so the immigration will not think of any complicated situation..

In 1938 it took quite a long time even then for my Grandfather -a Black American Soldier stationed in Cebu Mactan Island who was a holdover from the U.S./Philippine War as he had wed our 'Lola'and had sought to bring her here. Note; the U.S Philippine War had succeeded the Spanish-American War (that was in 1898) within a years' span. That will give you a picture of just how long they had to wait at that time.

I beg to differ, it depends on PREFERENCE visa. Philippines had QUOTAS set by US immigration. You need to read foreign affairs manual. Usually if US citizen marries a foreign citizen, it takes awhile to process her visa because marriage outside USA is non legal binding under US federal law. They’re very careful about marriage fraud. Why do you think US fiancée visa is a lot faster to process, because marriage will take place in US soil. There are US consulates overseas that allows direct filing of spousal US visas, sadly Philippines is not included. US immigration, are very sensitive, but had the discretion to whom they think they could approve visas. Mostly those US citizens who are serving the US Military are given preference, the athletes like Cam will go through process like everyone else’s. My husband serves in US Navy nuclear submarine, I was granted fiancée visa in just 2 weeks, while I was working overseas. My brother who was petitioned by my father many years ago, had promise the US government that he will served the US navy once he’ll be granted visa. He was granted visa impromptu and he serve the US navy, and US citizenship in just 8 months! USA is more of patriotism and loyalty to the country, and those who can contribute to the society. I applauded USA. Illegals in USA are subjected to deportation no matter how easy they cross the border. But there are exemptions under the US laws about illegals, such as “ asylum and humanitarian “ because they feared persecution for their lives once they’re deported back to their home country. My opinion is not based on what I think, it’s based on facts. Read the US Immigration laws, the Foreign Affairs Manual. This is what I admired about US laws, stars, celebrities and athletes doesn’t dominate their system. I can process any paperworks here in USA, and I don’t need to worry about which will get approval or response first because I’m not one of those well known celebrities or athletes. Celebrities, athletes and our politicians go through process like everyone else’s. There’s no gap between poor, wealthy, athletes, celebrities and politicians in USA. This is the reason why I love USA.

yes, but its dangerous if you don't have documents. Not dangerous because of the law or government. its dangerous because you don't have the law or government looking out for you. GOV may talk about helping illegals but they wont protect you or save you from kidnappers, rapists' or killers. Kidnappers are known to enslave illegal immigrants and its hard to find them because money hides and corrupts.

@@JKtims they are always doubtful. In my rejection paper it said i can reapply after 6 months and if something changes in my career etc. lols. Try applying to Canada first and watch in Toronto (NBA). I was denied in Canada due to my previous working visa application but the niece of my bro in law got a Canadian tourist visa, new company, just graduated and with only 50K as show money. Then apply for US after u travel in Canada and show them u got back quickly but i observed that those who passed during my interview were mostly part of a touring group that belonged in an organization in the Philippines. So try joining these organizations which travels to US by group. My aunt was also denied in the US even if she has business etc coz she was invited by my cousin in Guam. Best way is join groups etc coz i think since its backed up by a group and they will go for an event or something they believe they will go back as a group.

Just fly her into Mexico and have her walk in with the latest caravan because the government sure doesn't care about who comes in through there.

So is his wife supposed to get special treatment and fast tracked for a spousal visa approval while everyone else with no "connections" have to wait 1.5-2 years for their spousal visa? I don't think he's going to get the sympathy he's looking for, specially from those enduring the process and doing it the right way.
