I'm from Japan. I want to go to Denmark someday. It's very beautiful city. I love Copenhagen!

What an great vlog, you really seem to be enjoying you day in Roskilde. Fun fact about the church there’s also a ton of royalty buried under the floor. The coffins and sarcophagus were added as the ran out of space under the floors.

It's mesmerizing and I absolutely love my heritage.. I still can't believe that so few people had such an impact on history.. And now that you have been to Denmark, do you feel any anger or fear towards us wild heathens 😊 It's such a contrast to today

Sure there were pirates, but they really were mostly farmers and merchants.

Im born in Roskilde, and when i was in 6th grade we went to the viking museum, and i have to tell that it was the most boring experience in my life.

Then you have seen the Viking ships. Such ships the Vikings sailed across the North Atlantic in to "Vinland". Something of a trip.

I thought Roskilde was THE viking capital, not just Denmarks viking capital....

I think Ribe is a more important village, if nothing else older.

It was important at one point in time. However, Aalborg, Aarhus, Lejre, and many other cities are located in or near fjords were also important. There were no capitals as we know capitals in the modern sense. However, Nyborg was important for political reasons, as that was the place that housed the Rigshof, which was where the vassals of the Danish kings assembled to meet. However, there were many other Ting and hof throughout the realm for different purposes. What kept the country together was an efficient bureaucracy. And there was no centralized government. It simply could not be done. It was ruled by many quite autonomous rulers that were fairly loyal to a greater king.
