Here's how I did this drawing of Ragnar Lothbrok. The beard was the most complex part, so I took the opportunity to talk about my way of drawing it.

I use koh i noor but any fixative will do with charcoal. With pastels I'm not so sure.

thanks. it's not a pencil. You can just use a pointed stick to carve lines into the paper. no need to press too hard, they will show up once you go over them with charcoal.

I used a cheap local brand of paper. You can use any paper, but it's better if it's thick.

@@clintsarvida8284 no, any regular drawing paper will do, just not very thin sketching paper. Honestly, I don't know the name of the brand.

I'm not sure what you mean. I use brushes for blending and spreading the charcoal.

Beautiful drawing. Like a lot of these videos where the artist is looking down to draw the sound of thevoice becomes muffled. Is there anyway you can position your mic so it picks up your voice better?
