4:00 you're talking about athelstan's confusion. However it is poorly written. Athelstan served at Charlamagne's court which means he spoke English and had to be elite tier to even get in there. He was not a normie. He was able to recite the bible from Latin to english and norse (why norse? just convenient lazy writing). Yet what they overlooked was that no monk on that level in that time, would not posess knowledge of the church fathers and their beliefs, many of whom came out of polythiesm/idolatory on a much higher level (greece, rome, egypt, assyria/iraq). Norse pagan beliefs were the same as other germanic ones which a guy like Athelstan would have already known because Charlamagne had fought Germanic tribes. also, Hirst and the History channel were heavily focused on dissing christianity throughout. This is something every christian realised watching this. it's only getting worse next season.
