Since week 7 - these two rosters have been going in opposite directions - the Lions losing players, and the Vikes adding players. The Vikes team gaining playing time together and continuity, the Lions patching their D together from week to week. The Vikes team was very NEW, not young, but Sam had only had 5 games in the new scheme, with his new coach, with his new weapons. The 10 new FAs that Flores brought into the starting rotation on defence barely knew each other. Now they are 16 games in, and have played from the lead, from behind, at home, and on the road. Then the player changes - Vikes add Hockenson, a fully fit Addison who had only 3 of the previous 8 weeks at practice with Sam, add Akers, and replace Robinson for Darrisaw on offence, and add Cashman and see the emergence of Redmond and Turner through the season. The Lions lose Montgomery on offence, and on defence lose half their D Line rotation - McNeill, Houston, Rodriguez, Wingo - their best CB - Carlton Davis and his back ups Dorsey and Rakestraw, and at best get an underprepared Anzalone back. These changes might reflect in the result more than many folks assume.

Although that accident with Khree was an absolutely tragic event for the Vikings, it was in the offseason, and it was a player that was only a 4th round pick who had never played a down. As far as football on the field goes, that’s relatively easy to overcome. Playing with only 2 starters, 1 2nd teamer, and 1 starting level player in the front 7 out of the entire opening day roster is much more to overcome on the football field.

Hardly easier. Vikings had one less home game and had to travel to London. Sure Bills was a harder game, but it was overall a very similar schedule difficulty wise.

I think that trip out to San Fran could rear its ugly head in that the lions might have less gas in the tank toward the end of the game and it will be the difference. For some reason I really have a strong feeling Vikings will win. Just my $.002.
