when i do mine i get the first couple overlaps then kinda shift it side to side to loosen it up then finish the braid. the key is how you start thats for sure. nice beard, keep up the good work!

Just tried this and it worked first try. You are awesome. I usually go for a complex braid where I braid the center strand first and then braid the two outer strands together with the center braided one and I kept wondering why It always jutted out to the left. You solved the issue!

I braid my hair at the back of the neck, after many years of experience of braiding dolls' hair whenever I was a kid. I'm right-handed, and I've noticed that I cannot move my fingers on both hands symmetrically, in exactly the same way, while braiding. Instead, I have some asymmetric arrangement, where the fingers of the right hand behave one way, while the fingers of the left hand behave differently. It's very hard to train myself to do particular movements of holding the hair, symmetrically, with both hands. I've had problems with my hair bun always being off to one side, and I will sometimes hold up a mirror to look and see what it looks like in the back. But I think I do pretty well getting my braid into the middle down the back, and not off to one side too much. I agree, making the braid really tight increases the chance that something will go wrong.

Nice video brother. Sometimes I like to put a bead on the end to put some weight on the braid so it stays even more centre.

First you need to have a very long beard
