I was born to play badminton. Was lucky enough to be coached by a National Coach 30 years back when I was a young kid of 8 years age. I always dreamt of becoming a world champion one day. But, at 11 years old, my playing rotator cuff got injured and had to retire from professional badminton. But the love for the sport was always in my heart. In 2015, i slowly started playing at badminton. Now i play everyday morning about 2 hours and it feels so great. I feel that the live coverage of matches of the BWF tournaments has made a huge positive impact on people like me. Also the players like you, makes us get addicted to the game. I always feel a huge void the days i miss my badminton matches. Thank you VA for giving me an opportunity to interact with you! With lots of love and support!

I love badminton because this sport unites the nation. I am from Indonesia, we can called that this is a badminton country, many badminton legends were born here. Starting from children, young and old, they all like badminton. It can be seen during the Asian games and BWF tournaments in Indonesia, one stadium full of audiences from various ethnicities, nationalities and religions. Badminton really united the nation 😊

I've been playing badminton for years now, since I was 8 yet I stepped into the court for first time 3 years ago. But that never changed what the game meant to me. When I play, I feel each emotion and I embrace it and I understand myself even more. From playing in street for 10 years to stepping into court. There has been a racquet with me. For me, badminton is a journey. To know, to embrace and to grow

Hey Viggo! Great vlog as always. I used to think of badminton as being a leisure sport, one which you could play without exerting yourself too much. But then I saw the pros play. The first professional badminton match that I ever saw was Lee Chong Wei v. Lin Dan 2011 All England Final.... AND I WAS HOOKED...I had never seen such speed, agility and power on display in any other sport, and I had seen and done it all (almost all-soccer, martial arts, tennis and cricket too) nothing came close. That's why I love badminton, because of the athleticism that the pros bring to the game of badminton, pushing themselves further everytime... It's because of players like you, Lee Chong Wei, Lin Dan, Chen Long, Shi Yuqi, Kento Momota and others that I love badminton. All of you inspire us and show us that badminton is truly the best sport of them all....

Hello, Indonesian fans here. I started gaining interest in badminton since 2008 when TUC was held in Jakarta but I started following every world tour matches since Japan Open 2018. I love this sport not only because badminton has been the only sport that has given so many achievements for Indonesia but also the techniques and skills of every players (either it's singles or doubles) captivates me. I wish you a good luck for the upcoming tournaments and hopefully will bounce back to the top 2 soon!

Because I was born and live in Indonesia, badminton has been a part of my life like the other people in Indonesia. It's normal because Indonesia is badminton country. Badminton unites us. I can say that badminton such as morpheme for me. It's really fascinating hobby in my leisure time. I never get bored to watch all badminton matches. It's like I get the energy from the players and the audience in the venue when watch them. The euphoria in the court really really pushes my mood. Sad, happy, angry and all of the feelings appear because of badminton. It will be more super emotional when find out my country is struggling then be the winner in the court. I think I love badminton because of those sensations that I will never find in any other sport competitions. Only here I can scream out loudly and in the same time get heart attack.

I find that badminton is a great sport because not only does it keep one physically fit, it is an excellent social activity for friends to gather, and have a fun and relaxing time together. And it is very cool that a player needs to be able to do a lot of things because it´s not enough being a good runner or very strong, a player needs to read the enemy and must be able to do some tricks. I love Badminton and I will ever do.

I love badminton because it gives a meaning to my life. I was suffering from depression since 3 years and that's when I decided to pick badminton as a full time career even after staring at 18 years of age and it dint only helped me in my mental recovery but I feel really confident going everyday on the court which actually gives me a lot of happiness and I try to achieve a new level everyday.

I love badminton because it makes me feel free and strong. I play in a small club in Norway with mostly adults. We lack good equipment, but it doesn't matter because the people in the club are some of the most amazing people I know. I love badminton because it's something my dad and I have in common and it has made our bond stronger. We have connected through our love for the sport.

Absolutely love badminton for its fast-paced movement, the power, and the intense flexibility required for it. As I'm getting older, the game changes and evolves from the physical game to the mental game. It's one of the only sports that can be adapted over age. I'm no professional, so I can't speak about it as if I were one, but I've played casually for over 10 years and it's changed my outlook on life by taking what I learned on-court to off-court. Be patient, pace yourself, and to not be afraid to push one's limits.

I love badminton for a number of reasons: 1.) It is fun, it makes me happy, and I enjoy playing it. 2.) It is great exercise and a great physical activity that challenges your body physically. 3.) Not only does badminton require great physicality, but it also tests my mental game. It forces me to keep improving my mental game, my tactics/feelings, and my creativity. 4.) I love watching badminton, such as watching you, LCW, Lin Dan, Momota, etc. Nice performance at the All England btw! I love watching you play!

I love badminton because it taught me many beautiful virtues. Such as perserverance, patience, and humbleness. Through playing badminton all these years, I learned to perservere through circumstances, ups and downs, failure and success. Also, I am now more patient into everything. Especially working on the pathway I am pursuing. Lastly, I learnt to be humble and respect people that I meet. People that I play badminton with and people I partner with. I am from Malaysia and I hope I can stand out for this competition. Thanks Viktor!

Nice video, I appreciate how it shows how you get ready before a match. All England was really amazing!!! It is actually the first badminton match that I watch live. My family always like badminton so I play and watch it a lot since I was small, but when I saw the match live it's like awakening my love for the sports all over again. I love how competitive all the players are in the court, I can truly see everyone working hard to be as best as possible. Yet outside the court you guys are still friends with each other. My favourite moment was when I came across you, on you way to semifinal, and Momota. I was amazed seeing how you two smile and regards each other with no hostility and instead with respect, even though you two can face each other in the final. I was so starstruck that I almost forgot to ask signatures from either of you 😂 I'm sorry for the long rant, I tend to be like this when I'm excited. Good luck for your next competitions, I hope you will have a successful year!

Hey V! I love badminton because it taught me a lot about determination and love. We can't play it alone, just like in life. We need others help. It also shows me more than just winning or losing, it's the love itself. How the player needs to respect and help even they're the opponents at that time. And I learned a lot from you by seeing your hard work and even you inspired me to learn another language so that we could spread our wings and build more friendship. That's why I love badminton and admire most of all talented athletes. You guys rock!

I love badminton as it makes me physically fit and mentally strong. It taught me to stay calm no matter how bad the situation is and also taught me that once the match is over the person you were facing on court is no more your opponent. I've learned a lot from your play and hope you keep inspiring people ❤️

Badminton is an amazing sport that I came across in school. At the time I was a competitive swimmer for my local club. I competed for over 4-5 years out of passion and curiosity (since I began to learn how to swim at a very late age, I was curious as to how far I could get and surpass other swimmers. More like a test of what hard work could help me achieve). I picked up badminton as I started to lose my passion for swimming, I still wanted to participate in a competitive sport but I wanted to actually use my brain for strategy and outside-the-box thinking, and not just pure technique. Badminton was my new "drug of choice", as I very quickly found out that badminton was the perfect sport that fit all my desires in a competitive sport. After these 2-3 years of badminton, I'm still playing the sport with the same or increased addiction and passion for the sport. I plan on playing more during university and hopefully get a real taste of the international circuit.

I love badminton because it is one of the most vigorous sports that requires strength, accuracy, mentality, speed, etc. When I was young, I was inspired tremendously by our National Player Lee Chong Wei. So he is one of the reasons why I love badminton so much. Besides, it's Malaysia's national sports. We, Malaysians, are born to love badminton:) Ps: Viktor, thanks for offering the competition to win the racket. To be honest, duora z strike is my dream racket so I really wish I can win 😭 All the best in the upcoming games. Hope that you will continue to shine!

I love badminton because not every shot is spun like in other racket sports, and the solid feeling of the racket is just so satisfying. And, as with all racket sports, it is such a gratifying experience to piece together all the elements of training to reach a new level. Awesome vid, especially the editing. Love from Australia.

I love badminton because it is one of the most interesting sport I have ever found when I was young as it is very fun to play. During my childhood age, I was playing football and basketball. At age of 9, I encounter badminton in my school sport facilities. I joined the badminton academy to train my stamina and learning to do the basic of footworks and physical exercise. To be honest, badminton is the best sport for me. Every can be more creative to create to display new skills such as backhit shot, Peter gade trickshots or other shots that u can think of although it can be very difficult too but "practice make perfect" is one of my favourite quotes. Because every skills, footworks or weakness that u have or encounter require a lot of practices till you can overcome all of them. Nevertheless, I am just an amateur player but I wish to encourage every players especially their young age when they encounter badminton for the first time. Telling them to know that badminton is one of the most interesting sport. Moreover, badminton is all about fun games or mini games too and it is not all about winning or losing.

I love Badminton because it is my constant. I play even on days that I am sick or my schedule is maxed out. I cannot stand a week without holding my racket and smashing shuttles. I am not the greatest when it comes to skills on playing it but I am fairly good enough. I love Badminton because it allows me to play it even when I hate it sometimes. It makes my body swell and empties my wallet but I am willing to sacrifice more than those to keep and continue playing the sport that has been intact with my upbringing. Badminton has taught me to be passionate with anything that I find love whenever I do it. Because when you find love in it, you’ll also find your life in it.

I love badminton as the group I trained made me feel very included and supported me a lot even though I was not the best player in the team. I never felt included and used to get bullied when I played a different sport (as other people were ‘sore losers’ and ganged up on me) before joining badminton. Playing badminton and going away to competitions made me feel like part of a team and family! Unfortunately, I cannot play badminton anymore due to chronic pain but I do coach juniors in it and I love it because it provides a huge challenge to these kids. The majority of them are used to playing tennis (and find that easier), so seeing them change their attitude from I don’t like/I can’t do this to playing in competitions is a wonderful feeling! I absolutely love my coaching and especially in badminton and I don’t know where I would be if I had never joined it! I feel badminton is a very under-represented sport across the world and I hope that I can help make a difference with that! You are an absolute joy to watch both competitively and your attitude towards life, injuries and badminton is fantastic and I strive to have an attitude as positive as you! ☺️❤️🏸🥇

The reason I love badminton: I still remember the day I first started playing badminton. I was curious about this sport because it was unique in terms of the fact that shuttlecock is used instead of a ball. And once I heard the sound of it flying from one end to the other, I knew that I would love this sport and continue to play for the rest of my lives. I just love the feeling of moving on court and hitting the shuttlecock with my racket. Furthermore, due to my heart disease, it's very important that I take good care of my health and feel grateful to have met badminton because it's fun at the same time, physically demanding

It gives me the chance to demonstrate agility, power, and intelligence all in one. I love the sport :) Great video Viktor, I suggest making a video in the future vlogging interactions/interviews with other top international players to gain some insight into their culture, training/pre game routines, how they earned a spot on their national team, etc. It would be fascinating. Best of luck, cheers from Canada 🇨🇦🇩🇰

Badminton has been part of me since I first held the racket I always have the same dreamed as everyone else to compete for my country(Malaysia) glory I love everything about badminton the intensive gameplay, the speed, and the adrenaline flow through in my vein each shuttle I hit. At my current age of 16 I still dream of becoming part of the national team. But due to some circumstances such as my parents disbelief of me good enough to be a player and instead ask me to focus on my studies. Even though my parents only allow me to have only 2 hours of training session per week, I would continue to train my self at home everyday doing home workout, hitting the gym and watch badminton in KZbin such as BWF, shuttle flash, I love badminton, and even viktor axelsen channels with his training tips/advice everyday as I watch the world class game plays and always have my own visualisation studies where I would always imagine myself as I was there and follow the techniques. I would work a bit and save my own money to buy equipments that best suited to my style of playing Even now as I was about to graduate from high school soon in few months and go to college, I still want to keep on fighting as I find joys in meeting new powerful opponents and challenging them as win or lose does not matter to me the most important thing is you put on your best performance and come back stronger by pushing your limit until you drop every last sweat until you beat your opponent in fair game next time. Even if I coudnt able to make it to the national team, I would still continue to work harder to continue to be best I could be and surpassing my own limit because badminton has been with me the longest as it is my passion, my inspiration, my reasons of making so many wonderful new rival/friends, even a cure to my sadness sometimes when I need it and it also help me meet who I currently in loved with as badminton may be a sport with only one or two people on one side of the court but it still bring us people together as we put aside our differences to support all what we lived and loved together. Edit :Thank you for taking your Time to read my love story for badminton

I just love playing badminton as its not just games but a sport that could create passion in life, dare to conquer dreams, even in term of mental or physical, stay strong and focus to enjoy every single moment in the games, then miracles happen with a reason of belief with hope, which has become a part of my living. Nothing much to tell, love it more than I could tell!!

I love badminton because it's something that everyone can play on his own level. You don't have to a pro to love this game, watching the pro's do there stuff is even more impressive when you play this game and knowing it's not a camping game 😋

Badminton is the best! Badminton was the first sports I tryed after a two year "injury". I continued playing badminton because of the playful competition. So now I'm playing badminton for nearly 7 years and there is always something new to learn. And that's why I love badminton so much!

I hope i still can join this competition.. 😁 My very first sport is badminton itself. My dad has been playing badminton since couple of decades ago, twice a week, he also really likes to watch a lot of badminton tournaments on TV, and he taught me how to play while we had spare times since i was little. Well, that made me become familiar with badminton. As the time goes by, I do love badminton; to play it, also to watch it. This sport is really interesting, it has pretty fast movements, i like to see how players offend, how to defend, it never gets boring to see players with different types of playing. It just seems like an art. 😊

playing as well as watching badminton makes me feel alive. Pakistan has a very basic infrastructure but still badminton is thriving and one day we will have players as good as you. I wish other top seeded players make videos and coaching or simple exercise videos just for motivational purposes.

Badminton is one of the fastest sports,it requires agility, strength, movement, coordination. It helps an individual to develop each and every part of it's phisical appearance. Apart from that one should be mentally active for it,thats why I love playing badminton.

I love badminton for many reason! I started playing badminton at high school and I just fell in love with it. I tried basketball, football, and many more but they don’t come on top like badminton. It’s not about hitting the shuttle but it’s about the strategies and the technique you have to put into it! There’s just so many things to learn about badminton. The racquet the brand the shoe and clothing! It would be an honor to win one of your racquet!

Your videos are inspiring, keep it up Viktor ! I hope you will bring other player to create such content, badminton needs it ! :) The wonder about this sport is that it's an all around sport. Agility, speed, endurance, power, strategy and mental strength is required to be the best, but it still is a very cheap and easy sport for beginner to enjoy. Badminton is a very entertaining, impressive and beautiful sport. That is why I love badminton. I wish you all the best for the tournaments to come. I hope we'll see you in Switzerland, my home country, for the World Championship. Take care ! :D

Badminton is a sport where you can connect with other people regardless of your differences, you can understand people so much better through what we all love and enjoy. Sport in general can do that, but badminton for me is something where having the ability to play it and be a part of such a world renowned sport is truly special, not just for me, but for everyone who loves the game. We can all connect because of badminton! Without it we wouldn’t be where we are today! What’s life without badminton ay?😄

Hi, Vik, how are you? I've been a Fan since you were in the Junior level. You know that I love Danish MS player since Peter Gade to Kenneth Jonassen, then Jan to you. I love Badminton because it's the proudest Indonesia can be when I was a Kid. I remember that not every people in my town has Television to watch the game. Seeing Susi Susanti won the Olympics together with the people in the neighborhood with only one TV was such a great memory. I never played Badminton until a few years ago when I could buy my own Racquet, Yonex. I couldn't play like a professional one but I always have fun on court, though I am still working on my footwork. I love playing as a playmaker in the double, but single is way more interesting. I learn a lot from only watching the games and one of them is your technique. I am not tall like you so I prefer to play on net though I it wasn't that great. In my 35s, I find that Badminton becomes so mesemerizing. It changes quite a lot and way more challenging. You know what, sometimes ago, I skipped watching some games because the play was quite boring. Nevertheless, I find in every discipline, MS/WS/WD/MD/XD has their own styles, and many countries have the same opportunities to face against others, not too dominant contries like long time ago. The fun fact is that social media makes fans can get closer to you guys. Witnessing the sportmanship in and outside the court. How you compete in the court but have a friendly wefie off the court. I do respect and love Badminton so much for these elements. Keep on being great as a sportsman. Love, Achdi from Indonesia

The only reason I started playing badminton was because there was this Japanese guy who came from Japan last year, he played badminton and my other friends did too. I wanted to play with him as well and hang out with him but I never played badminton before so I was a beginner. I tried my best in becoming better and better, training every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, trying to get better and better every week. Finally I joined my school's badminton team, missing out barely of Team A and entering Team B. After performing well in Team B, I was able to get the best player award, and then placing in Team A for the next year. Now I am in Team A, playing to my hardest and going beyond my limits to keep up with the Team A standards. Even with the badminton season over in Term 1, I still train in my own time, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. I also watch badminton videos to see where I can improve since everyone can still improve if they just put their minds to it, pouring their heart and soul into the sport. Even though I know I could never become a professional, I strive to be the best I can be as myself.

I personally love badminton because there's always something new to the sport also because of the fact that you can meet alot of nice people on tournaments, for me when i'm "training" it doesn't need to be somebody from my own level or a much higher one i enjoy it with anyone even starters and like to show them in what badminton can grow. On tournaments it doesn't have to be just a handshake and leaving the tournament. It's always more fun to have more friends. :)
