She embodies the beauty that gymnastics is all about. As an American, I grew up loving the Magnificent Seven of 1996 but in recent years, due to the new code of points, I've done the previously unthinkable and now claim Team Russia as my favorite. The most beautiful sport is now dying and becoming a shell of its former self now that the system rewards the clumpy tumbling and lack of grace that the US gymnasts embody. Now, I somewhat disregard the medal results and just enjoy watching the remaining true, classical gymnasts. I just hope the Russians and Romanians and the like keep their traditional balletic style, even if the system doesn't reward them for it. That might be unfair to ask though.

I like the Russian style better too. I don't think that the US will do as well this Olympics. Bella and Marta Karolyi are gone. Mihai Brestyan went to Australia. Liang Chow went back to China. Maggie Haney has been banned.

I truly think Komova is one of the best gymnasts in the world. The only reason why she didn't win as many medals as she could have was she really gave up which is a shame for so much talent. I still love her gymnastic elements and how she combines her artistry/personality with those flawless flips. And I love her taste in floor music (Queen!) and your video is amazing. The music flows very well and how despite her mishaps she will be remembered as graceful forever. Isn't Komova just intriguing?

She is incredible and I do think she should have won the AA at the Olympics however...I also think she has a little bit of growing up to do emotionally.And I know probably many teenagers are going to comment differently but it's one thing to be very emotionally about losing but it's another thing to lose gracefully.
