dread is when you just realized an eldritch truth and also you know it sees you? wat? im pretty sure dread means your afraid that something your afraid of is going to happen. like, if you feel like a monster is coming, but the monster isnt there yet, thats dread. so in your example, learning of the existence of eldritch monsters may cause dread, but if its looking at you right now, thats more immediate fear rather that dreading a fear coming to pass.

Hey! I know you use sometimes concepts from videogames to create this stories, so I thought that maybe a horror story using or inspired by something from the franchise of Monster Hunter could be really entertaining While the game focuses a lot in the hunters perspective, something like a villager getting lost in a cavern system and being chased by monsters like Khezu or Nerscylla could make for a great video, if you research into the saga you can find a lot of creepy creatures that could work to make a spooky story that leads more on the biological horror and less on the magic of elder gods and demons Anyway, great video!! I always love to see your creepy stories on the night
