Yeah, I'm smiling. But it's probably just a defence reaction against Fear. I'm terribly afraid of the coming winter. Every day I do minor repairs in my old village bomb shelter. But the major repairs have stopped. The local builders are charging unrealistically high prices for their work. They know I won't be able to find other builders. All the men are at the front. Yesterday, when I had spent 10 hours without power, internet, mobile connection, water, I was horrified to imagine what it will be like in winter, when it is dark and cold. If you can help me even a little bit to prepare for the terrible winter and speed up the repair of my bomb shelter, my children, me, Ritchie and Tosik will be very grateful to you. Thank you for your help and support. Life doesn't seem so terrible when you know that somewhere, even if very far away, you have True Friends. Let us know on your plans for the solar generator. One that is light enough to carry back and forth on your trips to the village. Don't wait too long as I'm afraid of possible equipment shortages this coming winter. Thanks!

I know you will never leave Ukraine, but maybe in this moment you should, because war going to end, some people say it would be this year, some at the end of this year, I think it can be 2025 anyhow war is more danger at the end than at bigging.

Pavlo from Ukraine says exactly the opposite he lives in Kiev near you..I'm thinking maybe he has family in the villages so maybe you can find him and his girlfriend Luba before winter and get a nice Indoor firewood boiler to heat the home with out electric...he says that no one is required to go to the front line and fight..he has several villages homes and gardens everywhere and his mom has cows..for milk and cheese for you to they are in the honey business and he drives a eletric Toyota....I'm sure he can help you guys...they go on vacation s a lot so better try to arrange a meeting in Kiev with him and Luba before they go on vacation for the summer

Price Utah here. I found it disturbing that Spencer Cox who said he would not vote for Trump and hosted Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Western Governor’s Conference in Salt Lake a few weeks ago has now decided to support Trump. A bit hypocritical I think especially considering Trump’s stance on Ukraine, hopefully neither of them gets elected, Cox is a pandering weasel

Hello Vita the queen of Ukraine and DIY/Gardner extrodaire. Lovely seeing you looking up-beat in your country mansion. Well, if marriage was on your mind there would be thousands of men queuing in line 🫣 that would stretch the width of Ukeriane 10 times over 😊. The weather looks fine though the temperature is high at 45°C but enjoy it and think of it in the middle of winter 🥶. Always love your visit to the DIY store. Apparently air raids are now available. ?/hr 😅. The little kitty looks too pretty to be used as a mouse 🐁 trap! "Fish, blood and bone meal", is something that I used and it really works. Vita that great care and stay safe and happy and keep smiling. With love and best wishes to you and your children and your loved ones, not forgetting your husband 🙏 and all our heroes. Allan x. Those fish heads are exactly what your plants want. Your visitor cat would enjoy some of those fish. When planting a potted tree, it is best to make vertical cuts on the root ball to cut the roots that wrap around the perimeter. If you don't the tree will become root-bound and not grow much. Your rose will probably be OK. Even the simple views of cows, geese, and rain interest me. I wish we could have rain here.

It would be very nice to come visit your village, talk a bit about life, about whatever comes up to talk about, and to help a little fixing things. I know life in war is not easy, but it is a time when you care about today and tomorrow is another day. I live in still peaceful Sweden, but as a former military officer, I do understand struggle for survival and peace in our hearts. I live in the countryside too. And I have learned to manage. Life goes on, air alert is not the end of life, its just a part of life as it is. Take care of your cat. Cats are good for country life. Hello Vita, Your video was again very impressive and touched me deeply. You are a strong and very educated woman. You face the challenges of life in war. I like seeing the contrasts between city and country. Your helplessness in the countryside also makes me smile. You are a city plant Something reminds me of the old GDR days when I see the rural life and the gardens. Even today, my parents live out of their garden for many months. Not because of money, but because it tastes better. It is also her passion and hobby. My opinion is that a woman should not live alone long-term. It's not good for the soul. You are too smart, you should be able to share your thoughts. You are young enough to take on the adventure. Until you are an old babushka, you still have a lot to fill with life. As a craftsman, I found an old woman last week who died alone in the heat and lay there for at least 4 days. Your fish is still fresh and delicious. I have the deepest respect for every Ukrainian soldier who is exposed to something like this and still bravely carries out his duties. My fight against Russian influence began when the full scale was launched. After the shock, I started isolating the houses and also inciting other people to isolate. Install a heat pump instead of gas heating. All things like that. I also set up photovoltaics and batteries and feed-in so that you have emergency power. The more renewable energy, the less pressure there is to buy Russian blood gas or oil. The batteries in the house can easily operate the lighting and a kettle, etc. for a certain period of time. A good solution could be a power bank with 2 to 3 kWh.

Great Lady, after seeing you deal with the fish for fertilizer there is no need to prove resolve or courage in any other way. Neighbor Babushka who passed would be proud. A man? Not a cowboy in Texas could keep up with ya ( though many would try as your a heavenly treasure among women ) and I am sure the utility fellers meant well in a brotherly/ fatherly sort of sense. All men like to think gals need 'em when we know we need ya'll more. Children need moms so am relieved yours have a GREAT ONE. No doubt your ma is GREAT too. Blessings from GOD upon you and yours. Hello Vita, Yes tarpaulin can be used to kill weeds, but you can also use old cardboard boxes flattened, and put them on top of weeds too. Cheaper than tarpaulin. If you can easily acquire banana skins, which contain potassium and other minerals, they can be good for roses 🌹 What you do is cut the banana skins into small pieces and dig them in around the roses and they will break down and not attract vermin, birds etc, but feed the roses to help them bloom 😉 Keep safe 🫂 slava Ukraini 🇬🇧 ✌️ 🇺🇦

She is an example of the contradiction of purpose when a family man goes to war to protect his family, yes, he must do it because the consequences are dire. But if he dies, his family has to suffer the consequence of his absence which can also be dire. I don't recall where I heard this quote, but "true love is not willing to die for someone you love, but true love is willing it k**l for someone you love." The heart-breaking tragedy now is her struggle to live for their children on her own, the danger is not gone.

I asked a flower seller and he advised me, to put sometimes, some кавова гуща with the water. And like that, despite the very strong heat in Nice, it survives ! And I think that smell of coffee is better than the smell of old fishes 😂 ! I really hope that the mayor of your village could do something for all these bins ( by burning them ) because to see this in nature is so dirty... You have done so much DIY through necessity and even I (an inexperienced DIY-er) can see how much your skills have improved, but I can imagine things seem endless, exhausting and utterly terrifying. I don't know how to donate, but I'll figure it out. I know in UK in WW2 we struggled to get house repairs done due to younger men being on the front lines and I expect future wars on our soil would bring exactly the same issues. Every day, I wish and pray for peace on earth but sadly, I don't think it will be within my lifetime.

Here is a way to make a DIY air conditioner that does not require electricity. You need a tub of water, a towel and a ceramic brick of tile or pot (not painted). You need to make something that holds the ceramic and the towel outside (maybe out a window -- safely). The tub of water should be inside. You start by getting the whole towel wet then place it so one end is in the water and all the rest of it out in the sun or wind. The water will absorb the heat inside, the water will evaporate out of the towel taking the heat with it. As it evaporates, it will pull more water from the tub. This should work continuously until it becomes too cold outside (which is fine). The efficiency depends on surface area. The more shallow and wider the water, the more easily it will absorb heat. The broader the towel outside (or more towels), the greater the pull and evaporation of water. There are certainly ways you could refine this for even greater efficiency, such as using copper or aluminum tube coils inside and you could experiment with different materials for evaporation outside. Whatever you do, you obviously don't want to leave the window open so you will need to run the towel (or other absorbant fabric) through a part of the window and seal off the rest with insulation foam or something else. This is making me think. Maybe I could make an example to show other Ukrainians how they can do it. I can work on making a more efficient one but I think cost is also a big consideration for many. What do you think??

So as far as I can tell you need anywhere from 15,000-30,000 uah Which is approximately 1,100 Cad More approximately 800 USD. At least get a generator because for sure if this work continues you will need one. You should pick one and ask for help if everyone chips in it will be easier.❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Vita it is very good to hear from you again you know that you are in hot but safe place. You should actually try to get a generator for sure he will really need that now and for summer and winter if you are to stay there or even use it as summer cottage eventually. You should pick out a generator that you would like to have an ask people to help you with it giving them the price maybe one person can buy it for you or if all of us chip in you can get one and it will not be that bad for all of us to help you. Thank you once again for your videos get back to me with the price of generator that you choose different kinds different sizes get one that it will be appropriate for winter also

Vita, Your courage and strength are an inspiration. Is there any update on the property next door? I'd still like to move there and be your neighbor, but my fiancée wants to leave Ukraine and come to live in Arizona. I'm hoping to convince her that I can do a lot to help with the war effort by living in Ukraine and building drones. Put the fish in water while they rot. It helps to keep the smell down. My great grandfather did that and put the result on his rose bush. It wasn't really a bush, it had a trunk 10 cm in diameter and climbed up the side of his 2 story house. Stay strong! You are loved!

Ha! I spent all day looking at land in NE Poland where part of my family is from - just in case I wake up to a Christofascist dictatorship in 25. With that, Poland might not be safe, but at least I would be free. I hope it doesn't come to that, but Russian propaganda has turned the states upside down.

Hello Vita. I hope that the temperatures have eased a little bit. How much of a blessing it must have been to have that rain. I hope that the beautiful rose was not damaged. When you visited the village dump, I could feel the smell from here in Great Britain. I don’t know how you managed not to be sick and to continue talking. You make me laugh about the village babushkas coming round to see what you are doing. I guess the good part is that you will know if anything happens in the village if they are watching. It must be so difficult with the village alcoholic living next door to you…I am guessing that there is no power cuts that stop his music. Thank you for your videos, I have friends that live in Sumy and also have a dacha in the village so it is interesting to see how your live is similar to their life. Please keep safe and yes, I know exactly what you think of russia!

Village alcoholic disco remedy (village mice too!): a good stereo with sub base blasting Ignea. Alga. But poor Ritchie might hide at the neighbors at the edge of the village! Temperature in Kyiv now the same as here - 77 degrees F. and it is midnight. 44 degrees Celsius is about 110 F. Hot. If it is dry, not so bad, but with humidity - I hope it is dry with that heat. Today we had 92 F. and humid, but not too bad. I didn't even put on the AC, just a fan. Village babushkas same as some here - women should be married with kids. I am a childless cat - and dog lady! 😊

There are bricks at that rubbish dump. You can use them to pave an area in your garden. If there is wood, you can take a saw with you and cut wood to make an outdoor table. That dump will have things to recycle. Use it. You might get called trash lady but you are not stupid

@@ThinkUkraine Greeting to Kiev, and the village. Actually, I got into commenting on the weather from in-laws who are farmers. I never used to pay much attention (unless going sailing). With my farming relatives it was, of course, all about the weather. Before the Internet they had a satellite "terminal" (it was actually a PC with specific programming and a dish) to get information useful to them. Now, this was a farm of about 1,200 acres (486 hectares), which is about the smallest a grain farmer can be profitable at i the US. They had weather from around the globe, keeping an eye on their competitors. They also had futures prices for everything from the crops they grew to gold and currencies. It was an eye opener. So, now I am a bit of weather geek. I am glad that you don't mind.

Maybe you should just tell people your husband is a soldier and put a ring on just to save yourself the grief. The only reason you should marry anyone is if you feel it would bring you happiness.
