That's the problem, looking at main stream now they push all sorts of exclusivity but fail to recognise the fighters of the 70s and 80s who were frowned upon, The music is still there and the message is still there Demographics change and hatred is done with inclusivity We as a populous have learned nothing God bless you

Quando i Village People sono diventati famosi ovunque, servivano 2 palle quadre per fare canzoni così. I Village People hanno fatto molto per il mondo gay e negli anni 70 non era per niente facile.

Funny. Much of the way I am is a result of my choices in life. Perhaps not my sexuality, but certainly most of what I present as my personal "identity" is about my choices. I would prefer people to consider me and my value based on those things. I don't think that's the opposite of this thought, but rather a complement. Ain't life a grand challenge.
@hirdy68 жыл бұрын
Chose your race?
@eschelar8 жыл бұрын
I am talking about my self-identity. My self identity is what *I* present. The person who I believe myself to be. In an ideal situation, I would want people to view me based on the way I present myself. Part of that is the way I look. Of course, I also come from Canada, so my race is a much smaller part of how I am perceived than in many other places. My race might change the palette of colors I choose in the way I shape the way I look, but it wouldn't change the picture.
@hirdy68 жыл бұрын
eschelar The song is heavy on sexual orientation and race.
@eschelar8 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's pretty obvious. What does that have to do with this discussion though? We are talking about the role of how we look and act (ie how we present ourselves) in how we are perceived by others. The way we look and act *is* going to change the way other people view us - and that's not a bad thing because the way we look and act is *our own form of expression*. I don't walk around wearing a baker's hat, an apron and dusted with flour because I am not trying to express that I am a baker. I would be disappointed in someone who saw me looking the way I look and immediately jumped to the conclusion that I am a baker based on my gym shorts, black t-shirt and flat-soled shoes. But if I were wearing those items, I wouldn't get upset at people immediately jumping to the conclusion that I'm a baker. And if I were wearing those items, it would probably be fair to say that I was *proud* to be a baker and wanted other people to know it. Getting upset at being called a baker would show that I am *ashamed* to be known as a baker... which would call into question me wearing a baker's uniform, not paint other people badly for assuming that I am a baker. Be who you are, but be proud to be who you are, don't suddenly back down just because someone out there doesn't like who you are or what you look like.
