Mike shows what color can do to atmosphere and mood in wc. Effect is emphasized by the use of simple and well-understood forms and a limited palate. No abdabs, no frufru. Mostly one brush, five colors. Painting is a simple thing, but the idea behind it always drives it and determines where it will go. We look forward to these videos.

Another artist to look at is Tim Wilmott, he paints very loose and they are so effective. Yes my accent is so strong haha I now live in Somerset and my accent sets me apart from the locals. I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I adore your art. I'm a newbie and need all the instruction I can get. I don't draw so I really appreciate being able to download sketches maybe one day. I like being able to focus on watercolor. The way you use basic colors and mix on the paper is magical... have I told you how much I love your style...lol I have not been to your website but that's my next stop. I would like to put in a request for at least a weekly tutorial...more if possible,please!!! Hi... I've just subscribed to your channel because I like very much your very illustrative watercolor style. Your painting style is very unique. I have a question though. Which brush did you use for this illustration. I'm talking about the large very pointy one with the gray ferrule. I'm asking you because it is very hard to find very pointy synthetic brushes. Most of them look pointy on the photos or at the stores but end up not being that pointy when I use them. It would also help if you mentioned the paper that you use which looks like a paper with a quite hard sizing.

@@mike100562 Thank you for the information. I will probably buy them directly from Escoda because I'm living in Greece. Bockingford paper never worked for me but TBH I've used the hotpressed one. But the hotpressed surface of this paper was terrible. I was trying to work on botanical illustrations in multiple layers and it didn't work at all though Bockingford is recommended for this type of illustrations. But it didn't work for me in this type of illustrations... it felt like I was working on Bristol paper or something. But it looks like it works very well with your painting style. Very bright and very controlled results. It looks good!
