You should wash the onions well and then chop them. This is what we learned from our fathers from childhood. Pasta should not be cooked in this way because it does not contain any of the beneficial elements such as vegetables, for example. If you don't want to use protein, at least add well-cooked tomatoes or any other vegetable, broccoli, mushrooms, cauliflower. Or spinach or carrots will taste delicious and beneficial as well
