Welcome to the Villages Art League Summer Art Festival held held at Lake Miona Regional Recreation Center! This year there were more than 80 Artists and Artisans who participated.
There were 2D & 3D art on display. The event's popularity stems from its free admission, allowing the public to explore this amazing venue. And in the scorching Florida summer, the indoor setting ensures a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all.
Upon entering each hall, you'll find signs guiding you to the artists within that room. This feature is particularly beneficial for fans of specific artists, making it easier to navigate and explore their captivating artwork.
Artist Lisa Melcher was the first booth I checked out. Her warm welcome made my visit truly memorable. Not only is she an exceptional artist working with acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, graphite, and mixed media, but Lisa also serves as the president of the Villages Art League. I couldn't resist purchasing a couple of her greeting cards, adorned with vibrant colors and delicate flowers and butterflies. In addition, I finally acquired the original piece of her mesmerizing mixed media creation titled, 'Moon Shadow,' which has captivated me since last year's exhibition.
The festival also features several fused glass artists, including SDCreations.
If you have a love for art, be prepared to lose track of time here as you engage with the artists and discover details of their awe-inspiring creations.
Another artist who captured my attention is Maureen Terrien’s work. She takes photographs of something that is already beautiful and then transforms it to look like a painting. Her fine art photography encompasses The Villages, Florida, birds, Flowers and Gardens, and more.

Artist Janeen Whetstone creates watercolor paintings and sells them in charming card sets that make delightful keepsakes. I got the card version of this beautiful mermaid.
