Villainous (with Wicked to the Core) Review

I really like this as well. I’m not a person who enjoys take that or really any direct interaction at all, but it doesn’t bother me in this game. In fact , I really quite enjoy it. And I think the reason for that is your deck is specifically geared towards being able to deal with whatever the Fate deck throws at you. So if nobody attacks you half your cards don’t do anything. So in a weird way I almost want people to mess with me so I can use these really cool cards lol.

That’s a very good point about having Allies that will just sit there if no one actually triggers your Fate deck.

This was the biggest 'surprise' game for me. I went into Villainous expecting to be bored and found myself enjoying it...even quite a bit. The action selection and the asymmetric decks were just enough to keep me 'involved' , then throw in the hero decks and the charming Disney art and what we have is not a heavy thinky game, but it does give just enough to chew on and still be fun to play. Balanced? I don't know, time may tell, but there is no denying the game's mechanisms are fun to employ. Thanks for the review/peek of the new expansion with Snow White's evil Queen stepmother! Dwarves! Hi-Ho and all that! :)

The Fate token should be used 4+ from my experience playing 4 players. The game lasts way too long as every time someone gets close to winning, WHAM WHAM WHAM and it sets them back 4-5 turns. This repeats over and over until someone gets lucky, almost like Munchkin.

Great review. Very cool to see your family liked it as I’ve been looking to get this for the fiancé and her family. They like dice throne, Jamaica and reef so far and this was gonna be the next one I hope to have them play and enjoy.

Have there been any scratches, scrapes, gouges or other imperfections on your cards? I haven’t opened my copies yet because I just got them today but I read a lot of bad stuff on the cards being like that.

Not in my copies. The cards a TAD thin but not awfully.
